After months of waiting, I finally got all of the Captive Prince series from my library. Kings Rising is one of the few books to make me cry. I really love C.S. Pacat’s writing. Of course, now that I’ve finished these, I’m more impatient than ever for the final book of Dark Rise to come out!
The cover for Kings Rising by C.S. Pacat. A dark haired man in Greek armor holds the wrist of a blond haired man in blue and gold European style court clothing as they gaze into each other’s eyes.

Finally decided to give Morning Glory Milking Farm a shot. Thus far, I’ve found it very wholesome. And surprisingly queer for a book not featuring any queer characters. 1/2
Screenshot from Spotify showing the cover of the audiobook Morning Glory Milking Farm which is in a “bodice ripper” style with a shirtless, heavily muscled Minotaur and a human woman in a pink dress with her shoulders and cleavage exposed leaning against his chest. He is holding a milk jar that is spilling white fluid. The screenshot shows progress at chapter 14.

without downloading any new pics, describe your gender:
A bright blue alien with hot pink eyes and a spots squats on the ground. It had four arms, two of them are crossed across its chest and making peace signs. The other two are in the air with middle fingers out. They have no clothing and their genitals are covered by a yellow emoji with a shocked expression and 3 x’s for the eyes.

Did I decide to abandon my other books to read all of Rogue Protocol tonight? Yes I did. Was it worth it? Absolutely Do I know what to do with myself while I wait *NINETEEN WEEKS* for the next murder or book to be available from the library? No. No, I do not. My favorite Murderbot story yet.
The cover or Rogue Protocol by Martha Wells. A perspective figures standing on a metal deck overlooking some kind of large ship or space station. The station and the deck are under a transparent dome.

TFW multiple library books become available and you don’t want to have them delivered later because you’ve already waited *months* for them, but also you are hooked on two other books that you are smack dab in the middle of.

Getting home late from a party and my kitchen still smells like the red beans and rice I cooked for it. It’s a nice feeling, knowing you have friends feed.

The Gilda Stories has a chapter set in 2020 and it’s kind of fun seeing what someone in the 90s thought this time period would look like.

Since January of this year, US government websites have been removing any reference to trans and nonbinary identities---including the website for the Stonewall National Monument. Yes, that Stonewall. But we’re still here, and we’re not going anywhere.

For Valentines, my partner and I took the trek up to Wonderbook in Frederick. We got a little worried when it started snowing halfway there, but it was worth the weather to see how excited they got picking out their presents 😊

I’m about halfway through The Gilda Stories by Jewelle Gomez and am continually wondering how I hadn’t heard of it until recently. Provided things continue at this level of excellence for the second half, this may become my favorite vampire novel of all time.

The Gilda Stories is off to an incredibly strong start. I’m enjoying the take on vampires so far.

Today, I finally managed to find a way to wear a binder that hides my chest instead of emphasizing it. I’ve tried binder after binder for years with no luck, and have worried I’d be have nothing until top surgery. With how things have been in the US, that has been a scary thought. But not anymore!

Had a Barnes and Noble gift card from Christmas + rewards to spend, so I finally went out for some retail therapy. Most excited to read The Gilda Stories by Jewelle Gomez. Black, sapphic vampire novel, originally published in the 90s, written by a founding member of GLAAD? Yes please 🙌🏻
A stack of books. Bottom to top: The Fifth Season by NK Jemisin, Open Water by Caleb Azumah Nelson, Kindred by Octavia E. Butler, Chain Gang All Stars by Nan Kwame Adjei-Brenyah, The Gilda Stories by Jewelle Gomez.

So Trump's shutting down of the entire government's funding system for American projects is literally so he can go line by line and target transgender people and other minorities. When we said transphobia affects cis people too, well... here you go.

Did you know that cleaning and organizing bookshelves is a very itchy task when you are allergic to dust? Also, how on earth do the bedroom shelves get so much dustier than the ones in my office and living room?
In the foreground is a recliner with an orange blanket with ghosts saying “boo” draped over the back of it. A dinosaur stuffy is on the seat of the chair. Next to the recliner is a small table with several books on books on it. Behind it is a lamp and two tall bookshelves filled with books and Halloween themed knickknacks.

Made the switch to kobo recently and have been enjoying it so far. Especially the part where transferring books from Libby feels a lot like burning CDs off limewire used to. I did not expect to feel this level of nostalgia from a new piece of technology.

Feels fitting to get an emergency tooth extraction today. The root canal from four years ago never fully healed. Turns out, when you cover up rot, it just festers and finds its way to the surface. Time to rest. It’s going to be a long four years.
