Upcoming parkrun will be parkrun's 22nd birthday! 🎉 There's also a very local reason for celebration. Clue: we're expecting a good turnout of wedding themed parkrun garb - come and join the fun! We're in need of 3 more marshals. Offers of help, please, to royaltunbridgewells@parkrun.com #parkrun
Text "22 years of parkrun" is superimposed on a photo of large number of parkrunners jogging or walking along a path and short grass, away from the camera. There are deciduous trees in leaf fringing the path.

Once again, we’re sorry about this week’s cancellation due to the events field closure. It took us by surprise too. We hope most of you managed to find somewhere else to visit at 9am? Do let us know.

CANCELLATION! ❌ Unfortunately, we have to cancel this weekend’s Royal Tunbridge Wells parkrun, on 26th September. We don’t take this decision lightly, and we’re sorry for the disappointment it may cause, but an evening drone show means the events field has been closed much earlier than anticipated.

Apparently this post was too subtle. So here goes: PLEASE VOLUNTEER THIS WEEK. We're short of marshals, set up and close down helpers. Thanks.

There may not have been a lot of brightness in the sky, but there were a lot of bright, smiling faces as 321 of us completed today's parkrun through the methods of running, jogging, walking or dancing (as RD Ross told us, today is National Dance Day).

On marshal duties @rtwparkrun.bsky.social Plenty of "thank you marshal"s to be heard. #parkrun
Lots of brightly clad parkrunners running up a gentle incline along a grassy field as they reach a U turn point. The grass is bright green after recent rain. Beyond the edge of the field are dark green leaved deciduous trees.

A massive thank you to Tunbridge Wells Harriers for bringing us rain! We had a visit from the local running club, who took over most of the volunteering duties and gave some of us a rest. Throw in a lot of pacers and it meant an incredible 83 volunteers supported 369 of us completing a 5k this week.

There's nowhere to hide. The long weekend is coming and it'll be bringing another glorious Saturday morning of parkrun! Because it's a holiday and because they're a lovely bunch, Tunbridge Wells Harriers are paying us a visit and have stepped up to fill the volunteer roster for us...
A photo of two people in a park, wearing pale blue bibs, one of which we can see has the number 24 on the back to indicate they will be a 24-minute pacer. This person has their hands over their face while they stand talking to the other person, who looks amused.

Our 551st RTW parkrun saw an impressive attendance of 340 parkrunners welcomed by first-time RD Carol. We were supported by 45 volunteers, who we give a very big thank you to. It's especially tough to fill the roster during the holidays, so we really are grateful to everyone who steps up to help...

The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and the minutes are ticking down to the end of the week, so we can now cheerfully remind you all: it's parkrun eve! As usual, all are welcome to run, walk or jog our 5k course, or if you'd rather volunteer, we still have vacancies for marshals.

It was another hot and humid morning in Dunorlan Park, but that didn't deter an impressive 337 of us from taking on the 5k parkrun, with 30 of us getting personal bests. PBs are especially hard in the heat, so a very big well done!

Here’s something nice to see. Our average finish time has got slower, hitting 30mins. This means those speedy 16/20-minute parkrunners are nicely balanced out by the 40/50-minute parkrunners. It helps to emphasise that everyone is welcome at parkrun, whether you run, walk or jog.

It’s that time of the week when the excitement starts to build… parkrun eve is upon us, and today it’s the eve of not one but two RTW parkrun events:
A photograph of the start of Royal Tunbridge Wells parkrun in Dunorlan Park. It’s an unusual angle, so on the right we have part of the view of a tree trunk, with the branches and leaves of the oak reaching out across the top of the image. Directly in front of us is a fenced off grassy area to protect the roots of the tree. In the middle, slightly distant, we can see lots of people dressed in brightly coloured running kit. The light in the whole image is golden, it’s a beautiful sight.

It was a hot morning, which is why it's important to wear appropriate headgear. For today that meant a veil if you were the bride, or a flat cap if you were our resident Yorkshireman! The rest of our 318 participants and 45 volunteers didn't want to choose a side so stuck to bare heads or caps 😂
Congratulations to Ollie and Jodie, who are pictured here wearing Groom and Bride t-shirts. Jodie is also wearing a veil.A smiling Andrew Deighton is wearing a Yorkshire running vest and a flat cap.

A photograph of a bunch of people wearing bright pink parkrun volunteer tops. The photo is misleading because it’s actually a group of set up volunteers, rather than marshals and close down crew.
