Two adjacent allotment plots are currently empty next to my mom's, which I guess is the reason this raptor is visiting more often. I think it might be a buzzard, but not sure. Hope it sticks around and deals with rodents regularly 😃

One of the very few films I walked out of, tedious as fuck. And I really enjoyed most of the Dogme 95 inspired films.

I was raised on these streets
Screenshot of a Frogger game. You need to navigate your frog from the bottom upwards across a street avoiding zooming cars and trucks to the middle verge and then further up across a river, jumping across the moving backs of turtles (which may dive) and logs into a free safe space. There's a time limit.

Nice mountain of clouds over Berlin.
Large clouds at an incline from left to right, being illuminated by the sun to give them a burning sheen. In the foreground a 70/80s style architecture hotel. And in front of that parts of a beer garden with a advert for the beer brand Veltins.

And another of these gigs I almost didn't attend, and it lifted my spirits into the stratosphere. Luft (a duo of Mats Gustafsson on sax and other brass and Erwan Keravec on bagpipes) with Otomo Yoshihide on turntables and guitar lifted the roof off an old tannery in St. Johann in Tyrol.
On stage, left to right, Otomo Yoshihide playing guitar and turntables, Mats Gustafsson playing some slidy brass instrument, and Erwan Keravec playing bagpipes. They are standing in front of a yellow brownish illuminated curtain with violet spotlights highlighting the musicians.

Belgian comic writer Franquin once made a one-pager about weapons turning to shit, which always brings a smile to my face. (No idea if this page will be visible in a decent fashion here, giving it a try.)
Page from Franquin's Idées Noires showing in a series of panels various weaponry turning to literal shit in the hands of the military. Unfortunately it ends up being a dream, with the dreamer saying "Shit, the nightmare is when you wake."

The kind of thing that makes you do a double take. A portable machine with 3 Intel 8086s and 256KB of RAM in 1978! From "The evolution of Smalltalk: from Smalltalk-72 through Squeak" by Daniel Ingalls (open access available: dl.acm.org/doi/10.1145/...)
SMALLTALK-78

In 1978, 16-bit Microprocessors were coming into production, offering us the chance to build a portable Smalltalk computer. Memory costs were also dropping, so that it was reasonable to fit an entire Smalltalk image in main memory without OOZE. Alan managed to find some extra funding for a young Xerox engineer, Doug Fairbairn, to build a prototype portable machine. The machine was named "NoteTaker" and used three Intel 8086 processors on an innovative bus structure that Doug had designed, coupled to 256K bytes of resident memory. (Footnote 21)

Footnote 21:
The NoteTaker actually had three 8086's; one to manage the disk, one to run Smalltalk, and a special "fast" 8Mhz 8086 to manage the Ethernet. Ever looking for more cycles, I wrote a special version of BitBlt that ran in the Ethernet processor, and took BitBlt commands off a queue from the main Smalltalk processor. This nearly doubled the speed of text-heavy operations.

Grey wall with graffiti showing the backs two people wearing dark grey shirts and white trousers as the are walking away. Their shadows are visible, lending a very 3D appearance to the graffiti. Some very faded unreadable text from a red marker is visible below the figures. The wall appears to be made from large breezeblocks, with joins visible through the plaster, some of which has broken off.

I'm the exact amount of sozzled to make these two sentences of The Book Of Love by Kelly Link be utterly sublime, no idea why, but the pictures they invoke are delightful.
