To our dismay, the artist and author Marjane Satrapi has passed away. As she wrote, ordinary Americans and Iranians have more in common with each other than we do with either of our governments, which have far too much in common with each other. We honor her memory and oppose the war.

NO WAR WITH IRAN!
The world is not divided into countries. The world is not divided between East and West.
You are American, I am Iranian, we don’t know each other, but we talk together
& we understand each other perfectly. The difference between you
& your government is much bigger than the difference
between you & me.
And the difference between me
& my government is much bigger
than the difference
between me & you.
And our governments are very much the same...
—Marjane Satrapi

Happy Friday! Casual reminder that we'll be reopening for submissions to Glass: A Journal of Poetry in a few weeks! And because we really really want to start paying our authors, we've got a new feedback submission option 🤩 Get those poems ready, fam! www.glass-poetry.com/journal/subm...
General Submissions with Editorial Feedback Guidelines

This option is offered to help us offset costs of running the press and website and to help us achieve our goal of paying our authors (chapbook and journal authors) by the start of 2026. Thank you for your help in moving us closer to this goal.

Please follow all submission guidelines for regular poetry submissions (reprinted below). Additionally, please choose ONE (1) poem from your submission packet for editorial feedback. Feedback poems should not be more than TWO (2) pages long.

Feedback will come from Glass Poetry Press Editor in Chief, Anthony Frame, and will include feedback on some (though not necessarily all) individual lines as well as overall feedback on the poem. Feedback will be as generous and positive as possible, but also will offer specific, detailed critique -- we're here to help your poem and sometimes that means saying some things that might be difficult to hear.

Feedback Submissions are only offered during our regular reading periods of February and August.Fee free submissions for Glass: A Journal of Poetry reopen on February 1st!

Please follow the submission guidelines when submitting your writing! There's no harm in double-checking before hitting submit. It's a small thing that makes a huge difference. Many magazines will outright reject your piece if it doesn't follow guidelines. Your work deserves to at least be read!

Sometimes it feels like you’ll never get the spark to write again, but then all it takes is the tiniest thing: a walk through an unfamiliar street, a passage from a favorite book, a sudden storm, and you might find yourself inspired again. It can feel like forever, but the words do find a way back.
