I said I liked it. I didn’t say it was good. Post yours!

I have noticed SF films using kitchen equipment for props for decades. rubber floor mats crop up everywhere, esp as wall dressing.

RW Scott @rrwscott.bsky.social · 5h

how weird! apparently I prefer to repair old appliances & order knockoff xbox 360 gamepads a lot. 😅

right?! perfect for the kitchen. 😄

Maren Jensen as Lt. Athena in Battlestar Galactica ('78), looking like the most hardcore restaurant health inspector. -the gadget on her hip looks a lot like an old school temperature probe. 😄

& difficult to master. it's actually a turn-based remake of DEADNAUT, which was in realtime & had you controlling 4 agents, which I found overwhelming. 😅 I favor the energy loadout as the field gun & gravity pulse are really handy for delaying enemies. www.youtube.com/watch?v=AMyv...

I've been enjoying DEADNAUT: SIGNAL LOST, a tough as nails sci-fi horror roguelike where you remote pilot human agents scavenging derelict spaceships & abandoned facilities on alien planets. minimal presentation & spooky ambient sound design. quite tense & atmospheric. very easy to pick up -

Shadows of Mordor is a lot of fun. I never got far in it, but it plays really well & there's tons to do.

RW Scott @rrwscott.bsky.social · 6h

yeah & leaking fluids, like- ffs who designed this? 😑

110

RW Scott @rrwscott.bsky.social · 6h

yah he's real laid back, I like his delivery & observations a lot. you'd probably enjoy his club mixes too, they're packed w/synthy bangers. 😄

yah Cryo Interactive were a strange developer. they also did a game called Pax Corpus which was a reskinned & rewritten Aeox Flux game that they'd lost the license to before it was finished. he covers it on his channel as well.

available for niche Japanese titles. also longplays of some great & awful games. heartily recommended if you're nostalgic for that era (which I am). 😅 a fave: his in depth look at the bizarre French ps1 adaptation of Philip K Dick's UBIK, which was actually a thing: www.youtube.com/watch?v=U4pm...

morning all ☕I recently found out mr. @seanseanson.bsky.social is on bluesky & have been rewatching his videos. he covers ps1 era games & does longform retrospectives of all manner of releases, club mixes of some of the funkiest music on the console & breaks down quality fan translations-

thanks, it's been a bad year for them. we've had constant high humidity so even room temperature's a bit stifling w/out a fan going. 😑

@elgringofeo.bsky.social you might like this, it's old school in the best way. tough but fair. makes you think carefully about the environment.

RW Scott @rrwscott.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

playing DEADNAUT: SIGNAL LOST. sci-fi/horror game where you puppet a remote agent via a simple display, scavenging derelicts & such while being stalked by creatures. creepy & claustrophobic af. I like this version better than the original because it's turn-based. #GameSky 🎮

my point being: regional stereotypes are weird. 😅

220

RW Scott @rrwscott.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

yah every region has their local strips. in the southern US there's an old comic called Snuffy Smith- still in print in 2026, even tho hillbilly (or mountain folk) communities were annexed & absorbed nearly a century ago.

forget what I said about the 26H2 update. spent the latter part of last night playing whack-a-mole w/some screen optimization-related software bug that was hardlocking all my games at their main menu. finally gave up & system restored back to yesterday morning. f'n windows, man. 🙄

they use the same fonts & colors for video thumbnails on youtube too, w/the creepy R. Crumb ripoff art style for the graphics. hate.
