tbh i actually spent so much time playing sapphire and fire red as a kid and do enjoy them, but i can’t help but feel that pang of disappointment i had with RS whenever i see gen 3 because of how much it took away from gen 2 😭 i know emerald added back a lot and by now it doesn’t really matter—

kea @royasuka.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

gen 3 is generally considered the easiest place to get into romhacking and i Do have gen 3 ideas, but in my heart i hate the gen 3 look and im obsessed with days of the week support which is very much a gen 2 thing :/ tbh i should just poke at both

i finished frlg.ips :) really enjoyed all the glitch and rumor references and appreciate that everything wasn’t completely spelled out and resolved. i’m curious how the “normal” route is!

when is gamefreak gonna make a pokemon legends game for johto that’s set in ecruteak in the mid-19th century and retells the transition from the tokugawa shogunate to the meiji restoration except suicine is there :/

silly drawing + silly sticker #deathnote

Drawing of L dangling an eaten apple in front of Light’s face. L in his iconic crouching sitting pose, Light pretending to be a cat boy and wearing slutty outfit comprised of a pink collar, a pink bikini, white thigh highs, and a matching tail and cat ears. Thought bubble above Light says “I have to pretend to be a cat boy or he will know I’m Kira!” There is an arrow pointing to L that says “not convinced, but amused” in the top left corner is a small doodle of them dressed as an angel and devil and Light is kissing L on the cheek lol

frlg.ips is surprisingly long! even with speed-up and avoiding as many battles as possible, i’ve been playing it over the course of 3 evenings and still have more to go. im totally charmed by story hacks and other amateur horror games… theres just something so cool about passion projects like these

kea @royasuka.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

tbh even playing vanilla pokemon frlg, theres a lot about kanto that i think is just well done and even gen 2 doesn’t quite capture (and i say this as a gen2 diehard)… i like that team rocket is always there committing all sorts of crimes, making the region feel seedy a bit eerie. as early as—

Metin Seven, Moon Child's dad 🌝 @seven.eurosky.social · 23/09/2026

To celebrate all the recent love for #Hoi and #MoonChild, I fired up @aseprite.org to create some new Hoi and MC pixel art, for the first time in ± 30 years. 😃💚 For the scenery, I used my tiles for the Amiga version, combined with the Windows version's mountains and night sky background.

Pixel artwork, depicting a scene from the 1990s Moon Child game, featuring the Hoi and Moon Child characters.

i’ve been thinking about pokémon gen 1 glitches and rumors (probably because of deltarune) which has me searching up stuff about pokegods and other fake cheats… theres some decent write-ups, but it feels so incomplete and there are so many dead links… i kinda want to try archiving this stuff myself.

im in a creepy romhack mood so i’m playing frlg.ips now. so far ive seen the new rock by the water.

kea @royasuka.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

i want to make a horror pokémon romhack but i would have to finish planning it AND learn how to hack 🙄

kea @royasuka.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

earthbound has never been Huge, but i feel like right now is the smallest i’ve ever seen it. probably because the same type of person is focused on deltarune instead, but i hope it never fully disappears. may our fight for official english mother 3 be endless and everlasting 🙏

kea @royasuka.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

mother/earthbound is so good. i just love the concept of getting an egg as a consumable item, and then a few minutes later you start hearing chirping. you have no idea what it is or where its coming from, until you check your inventory and see the egg has turned into a chick. this is peak gaming.

kea @royasuka.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

i think i’m a little more than halfway through the halloween hack and while i’d say that cheats are necessary for me to enjoy it, im actually VERY impressed. highly recommended to anyone who enjoys amateur rpg maker-like horror games and has at least a decent familiarity with earthbound.

kea @royasuka.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

im playing the radiation earthbound halloween hack and ngl it’s actually quite charming so far

kea @royasuka.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

deltarune has me thinking about video game glitches… mother 1’s warp glitch is cool, but i think my favorite glitch area is pokémon RB’s glitch city. gen 1 had the best glitches! they’re not super dangerous, but visually very cool and fun to think about even in a Lore way.

ch 4 deltarune has a lot about how DELTARUNE could be LOVE (caps intended) and it always makes me think of mother 3? is dr LOVE like m3 LOVE? or is it more like undertale’s LOVE…
