The only Pope Leo I acknowledge
Concept art of the very good Pokémon Popplio, the water starter for “Pokémon Sun and Moon” - he’s a cute seal whose snout resembles a white party hat with a red topper. He is seen here trapping a Rowlett in a water bubble, then doing a backflip off said bubble, landing and popping the bubble. The Rowlett seems to have been completely destroyed.

A scene from 30 Rock between Kenneth and Jack, in Jack’s office. The top image is Kenneth holding a piece of paper and saying “sir, I have a problem with my timecard.” The second and third images are Jack replying “So, naturally, you came to me, because this company is just the two of us.”

Took an important step today to establish enduring peace between Sentinels and Mutants. We are using our global strength to unite countries. The United States wants peace. We want the killing to stop. Thanks to Latveria and Victor Von Doom for hosting.

If this doesn’t scare you you’re not asking the right questions. Who is “he?” What does “saved” mean here? Who are we “saving” the country from? If Obama said this it would scare me. If Bluey said this I’d be scared. Things are going to get worse before they get better.

Lupita, the little girl who resists Satan in the 1959 Mexican “SANTA CLAUS” film.
A bright-red demon with a black pointy goatee and large horns (really just a skinny man in a red leotard) whispers behind a young girl in pajamas, his hands pressed together with glee as he tempts her with toys and dolls. This is a still from the 1959 Mexican film Santa Claus, frequently called “Santa Claus Versus the Devil.”

The book jacket for Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky. A textured cream background is smeared with a dark red, black, and brown smear, like a paint brush stroke. A hatchet swipes through the smear, pulling color with it as if it is fabric.

The book jacket for The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins. The title is set centered on a solid silver-gray background, with the words “The” and “Delusion” in black, while the word “GOD” (written in all-caps) is white within a red circle. This is because in some editions with this jacket the circle is actually a hole within the cover revealing more text underneath.

The book jacket for “The Shroud of the Thwacker” by Chris Elliott. It depicts a sepia-toned parchment paper scrawled with black ink depicting, among various scribbles, a skull-and-bones wearing a top hat, a doodle of Teddy Roosevelt with a speech bubble saying “Hey I’m Fatty Roosevelt,” a drawing of the author, and a sketch of a mustachioed ma in a frilly skirt sword fighting with a figure that looks like one of the Spy VS Spy guys. The cursive that takes up the rest of the parchment, mostly concealed by the title, is a letter from Jack The Jolly Thwacker, the serial killer at the center of the story, to the Mayor.

The book jacket for “Supergods” by Grant Morrison. The cover is a solid black with a dotted line outline in the form of a simplified take on Batman’s cowled head. His eyes are white, very similar to how they appear in Batman: The Animated Series. There is a small scissor icon intersecting with the dotted line on the right side of the jawline, as well as the text “Fig. 1” above the dotted line, as if we are intended to cut out the shape and use it as a mask ourselves.

The book jacket for “The Trial of Henry Kissinger” by Christopher Hitchens. It depicts a black and white photograph of Kissinger’s face and shoulder but only the left half as the photo is up against the spine of the book. Along the bottom is a quote presumably about the book: “I find it contemptible.” The quote is attributed to Henry Kissinger.

The book jacket for Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency by Douglas Adams. The authors’s name floats in the sky below dark clouds with trails of light streaking behind it as if it has approached quickly from a great distance. Below the author’s name is a large golden plaque also floating in the sky bearing the title of the book. A red callout above the author’s name reads “The Dazzling Bestseller by the Author of The Salmon of Doubt,” which indicates that this edition was published posthumously.

People of Bluesky, post one of your favorite movies, with gif only.
A clip, one of the only gifs I could find, from the 1998 comedy The Impostors, starring Stanley Tucci and Oliver Platt, neither of whom are in this image. We see a stage manager just in the wings of a theater, gesturing for a stagehand to lower the main curtain. A smug man looks pleased over his pressed-together fingertips behind him. That man happens to be actor Michael Emerson, which is the only reason I could find this gif in the first place. I think he maybe has one line in the film, playing assistant to Alfred Molina’s hack actor Jeremy Burtom.
