As a casual photographer who's still pretty new to b/w film, I occasionally find myself wondering how a certain scene would render on my currently loaded film. Will the sky be too low contrast against the sand-coloured building? Will the flowers stand out or […] [Original post on meow.social]

I know the contest rules said only four postcards, but they're not on Mastodon anyway, so I'm taking the liberty of posting a second batch. The game is just so awfully cinematic. #OverTheHill #4x4Postcards #VirtualPhotography
Video game screenshot from Over the Hill. A Land Rover is preparing to descend a mountain side, looking out over an autumn landscape with mountains and maybe a lake, all bathed in the early morning sun.Video game screenshot from Over the Hill. An old and muddy Toyota Land Cruiser pickup sits on a hill, looking out over a rosy red valley during sunset.Video game screenshot from Over the Hill. A lone car is driving off-road up a mountainside during night. It is dark, foggy and rainy, and really the only things visible are the car's tiny rear lights and some trees lit up ahead.Video game screenshot from Over the Hill. The silhouette of a parked car sits on a hill at night, lighting up the trees further down the hill with its lights. It's dark and raining, and the landscape ahead is a vague mystery.

Some postcards from #OverTheHill by @funselektor.bsky.social! It's been a long day's trek: foggy woods, rocky waterfalls, even moon-like mountain sides. By the time we reached Rocky Ascent it was dark and rainy, but I'm sure the view is nice! #4x4Postcards #VirtualPhotography

A Land Rover with a canoe on its roof is parked right at the edge of a large and dramatic waterfall.Video game screenshot from Over the Hill. An American SUV and a Land Rover are parked in a rocky hillside, and at a rather steep angle. It's dark, but the sky is still red from the very last rays of sun. A dramatic landscape of forested valley and snow-clad mountains can be seen in the distance.Video game screenshot from Over the Hill. A Land Rover and an American SUV are parked at the very tip of a mountain summit at night, looking out into thick rain with almost no visibility. The silhouettes of a few other mountains can only barely be made out through the clouds.

This is what happens when you let corvids in. Not me though – it was like this when I found it, I promise! #nfc2025

Remember, kids, stay in school and don't do film. Expired film is not good for your blood pressure (or your fridge). #StayBrokeShootFilm #AnalogPhotography
The top shelf in a fridge, stacked with 35 mm film rolls of all kinds and ages. There's Kodacolor Gold from 1988, still in its original cardboard box; some modern ORWO P400, NC400 and NC500; Jessop Pan 400 from who knows when and a whole lot else. In the back, a three-pack of Fujifilm Superia sticks its head up from behind more Gold and unlabelled cannisters.
