Kemi doth attempt to photocopy with the paper drawer open, but wisheth also to run the country.
A weird satire from the Tories based on the Bayeux Tapestry. It depicts Kemi Badenoch holding a piece of paper next to a photocopier. The paper drawer on the photocopier is open.

Why is this question ‘*How* are you using AI?’? I AM NOT USING AI. Do not assume that I am using AI! AI sucks. I cannot see any moral or ethical case for using generative AI.

Does it count as ‘grasp[ing] the nettle’ if you’re not actually going to do anything until after the next election in three years’ time?
Burnham pledges to 'grasp the nettle' on tackling social care

Andy Burnham is up first, when asked about plans on social care he says his government is "making really good process"

He says the death of his father "has been hard" but that it "pushes him on" to sort out social care, adding that he is going to "grasp the nettle".

"It's devastating actually to be here.. Parliament just ignoring this issue because they consider it too difficult," he tells Laura Kuenssberg.

Burnham adds: "Is it any wonder that politics is in such low esteem with the public if it can't fix something as basic [as this]?"New national care service will be put to public in general election

There's more detail now on when exactly we might see firm proposals for a national care service.

The prime minister explains that because trust is important, he will develop a clear plan that is then put to the public at a general election.

Burnham says this is when the plan will be tested before it is introduced in the next Parliament.

When questioned by Kuenssberg, he confirms this will involve a care service that is free at the point of use, paid for by everyone, and with a 'precise explanation" as to how it's going to be funded.

We'll hear more on this during a speech on Tuesday, he adds.

Is it just me, or is it a sign of how inward looking our media has become that the top story on BBC News is not anything that’s actually happened in the world, but a trailer for an interview with Laura K? When did the interview itself become the story?

n the blog, OpenAI detailed examples of its AI models misbehaving so they could achieve a task or succeed in a test. The incidents included the models generating instructions to get around restrictions imposed on them, hiding mistakes and fabricating information.

THE TIMES
Sir, When the Dunbar lifeboat launched on December 21, 1971 in a force 10 gale to help a young man who had been face down in the water for several minutes, its crew did not know and did not ask whether the person was black, white, Christian, Muslim or a refugee. He was simply a human being in trouble. In setting out to save me the RNLI honoured one of the most admirable philosophies in human history. The fact that their action granted me a wonderful life I would otherwise not have had is a minor point. The important point is that in dedicating itself to the saving of human life the crew members of the RNLI restored my faith in humanity. Greater love hath no person than to risk their life for someone they do not know. Greater hate hath no person than to accuse those who put their lives on the line for others of being traitors.

"I had never really stopped to consider what an extraordinary thing the Royal National Lifeboat Institution is. Think about it. A troubled ship calls for help, and eight people - teachers, plumbers, the guy who runs the pub - drop everything and put to sea, whatever the weather, asking no questions, imperilling their own lives, to try to help strangers. Is there anything more brave and noble than that?"
