Nate was out to lunch. The chin scratches had come about so naturally that they didn’t trip any of his usual mental defenses. He and Jason were just having a normal conversation and touches of comfort were normal things. It was like resting a hand on someone’s shoulder, or a pat on the back, only this time it was Jason scratching his nimble human fingers through Nate’s thick neck fluff. Something that felt that good had to be normal, right?
