"A long time ago, time before the Aztecs reached their peak, the couple of volcanoes Popocatepetl (At the right in the image) and Iztaccihuatl (At the left) didn't stop to grumble, and make the lands of the old Aztec empire crumble beneath their domain. Under desperation, the tlatoani (name that received the emperor of the Aztecs, kinda) asked for help to the gods, from which the only one to answer was Tonatiuh (The sun god, and depicted in the drawing). However, he would not do that duty without help, so he requested the most courageous and strongest warrior of the empire to be sent to the foothills of these mighty volcanoes, next to the Tecoco lake (In the down part).

Hesitantly and with remorse, the tlatoani answered, and sent Eliza, capable enough for the task due to her ability to invoke green flames with each attack. Once in the place agreed upon, Tonatiuh glanced first at the warrior, and asked to stay in place and not move, no matter the reason. Once Eliza nodded, Tonatiuh proceeded to open to open with his bare arm a hole to the inside of Popocatepelt, and from it, he got the voice from the old warrior now turned volcano. After that, he tried to feed Eliza with what looked like a ball of fire, however, due to the high temperature it had, she moved slightly, making the whole operation fail. Unexpectedly, from Eliza's back, a volcanic caldera appeared. She was transforming into a volcano now! To remedy this, Tonatiuh tried to contain part of the transformation giving her a better shape to halt the whole metamorphosis, although, that costed Eliza's humanity.

Since then, Eliza has never been seen again. However, it is said that when the volcanoes rumble, their sound actually comes from Eliza's barking, who is warning the people next to the volcanoes, the coming of the catastrophe"
