Switching from Fantasy to Dark Academia Lit Fic is so hard, because there's much less action. You have to draw out each moment much more and unravel each thought and idea, and the plot progresses through small moments rather than Big Events™️, but it's been SUCH a good lesson 💙📚🪐 #writesky

Will tossed the newspaper on the table. After pouring himself a much-needed cup of coffee, Marko stepped away from the counter and joined him, cradling the cup in his hand and towering over the teenager by a good six inches.
"Good morning, Simelane-senpai," Will said cheerfully.
"Which anime did you learn that from?" Marko asked with a wry smile.
"Excuse me?" Will feigned defensiveness although his blue eyes were filled with good-natured humor. "I'll have you know that I've become pretty adept at learning the language, thank you very much."
"Then explain to me the difference between hyōjungo and kyōtsūgo."
The quick-witted teenager never missed a beat, snapping his fingers as if he just thought of something brilliant. "Why don't you explain it to me, and I'll tell you if you're right?" he suggested with a sheepish grin, knowing that his brief and badly constructed cover as an artisan of the Japanese language was blown.
Marko sat down and took a sip of coffee to hide his smile, although he strongly suspected that the boy was well aware of his own charm.
