In the search to find a good metric for complex protein folds, the Pacesa Lab has created the FoldComplexity voting site. The results from weekly voting will be used to update subsamples of protein chains in the PDB to help better calibrate the metric. Check it out: pacesalab.com/foldcomplexity
An announcement of the FoldComplexity voting site. The image shows a screenshot of the site which compares two images of protein folds and asks why the one selected is more complex. The text says “FoldComplexity Voting Site, What makes one protein fold more complex than another? Vote and share your thoughts to help the Pacesa Lab create a metric for analyzing complex protein folds, cast your vote at pacesalab.com/foldcomplexity.” The background is a light teal with some hexagons in the top left and bottom right and the Rosetta Commons logo is in the top right corner.

The scientific community is currently debating how to balance open research with biosecurity protections when it comes to biological AI tools. Primarily designed for broader societal benefits, could these tools also provide opportunities for misuse? Where do you stand? zurl.co/ccYXT
An announcement about an article focused on biosecurity. The image shows three graphics, a computer code looking circle with a rainbow protein spiral in the center and an open lock on the right, a protein spiral question mark, and a warning triangle with an exclamation point in the center. The background of the image is a gradient of green, yellow, and red from left to right. The text reads “Debating model openness versus biosecurity guardrails, The rapid advancement of biological AI tools has sparked a critical debate regarding the balance between open source research and biosecurity, A recent Nature article explores where scientists currently stand, Learn more at rosettacommons.org/news.” The background is a light teal with some hexagons on it. The Rosetta Commons logo is in the upper right corner.
