Good morning! It’s the first day for Roscestober! We’re welcoming the autumnal chill 🍂🍁🍃 Oct 3rd: Harvest // Crisp Be sure to use #Roscestober26 when you post your work! We look forward to it!

Halloween themed graphic with purples, orange and yellow titled Rocestober. Below that handwritten is Harvest / Crisp with Oct 3rd below that. A text box reads: Post your works for today’s prompt and use the tag #Roscestober26! Don’t forget to share and comment on other works! Chibi artwork of Clive and Joshua accents the graphic. Clive is in a v neck, flannel and jeans with a big cartoony hunk of meat he’s taken a bite out of with a pleased expression. He has ears and a tail completing his werewolf costume. Joshua is in his canon red white and blue dress and pants and pointed ears happily sipping on a blood bag that has a paw print and drop of blood on the label.

Squeaky Leathers by
The_Willow_Tree
Summary:
Joshua and Clive cannot wait a moment longer, sneaking off into the shadows of the Hideaway to quench the flame roaring between them... or it would be quenched if some unruly squeaking wasn't interrupting their fun.

Notes:
For the Roscest Tavern Flash Challenge!

Enjoy some silliness!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Beginning of fic reads:
Shared, quickening breaths washed over the brothers like a vicious wave, dragging them further into the sea of their desire. Avaricious hands explored, their grace and dignity exchanged for impolite want in a shadow of the Hideaway. There was nothing intelligent behind their gazes as nearby chatter burned their ears. But where wits and patience abandoned them, unhindered lust thrived as it had since their youth.

<<heirloom>> Joshua Rosfield explores Rosalith Castle at the side of its littlest ghost. Sparrow's Waloed Clive AU. Completed as part of #RoscestWIPFest ff16 | roscest | mature archiveofourown.org/works/88961011

There was life here, once, though it was extinguished in heavy curtains and darkness the day that Joshua was born. Sometimes, when he's very quiet, he can hear the servants whisper about the time before. To speak joy for the dead is to offer them a place to lay their head when the celebrations in the Founder's Hall become to zealous to listen to, and they say that it's certainly no place for a little girl. Most of Joshua's knowledge of Rosalith's smallest ghost comes from the servants speaking like this. They tell stories of her stumbling after Mama while Joshua still grew in her belly to tell him of the flowers that they saw. They whisper how she crawled into Uncle's saddlebag and was brought back hours later after insisting he not return to Isolde just yet. She chose her chocobo with utmost care. She was so very quiet, a living ghost until she heard tell that Mama was with child and suddenly came alive.

<<the day i found you, you found me, too>> day 3 of roscest week, leader, just before he leaves on his pokémon journey, clive rosfield decides to teach his younger brother how to catch one of his own. finished for #RoscestWIPFest ! ff16 || roscest || gen archiveofourown.org/works/88588356

Eevee throws himself forward to ram against the tree, making the leaves shake. In response, a strangely colored bird drops from the branches to land in the clearing near them. The warm orange of its head extends down to its wings, and there are little flecks in its tailfeathers that don't look right. It seems much older than a fletchling should be, and watches Clive with open warmth. Joshua gasps, then scrambles forward to grab Clive's PokéDex out of his bag. The device turns on quickly, though the camera takes a longer time than usual to register the shape of the bird.

"Fletchling," he reads. "The Tiny Robin pokémon. When it's excited, its temperature can double!" After a moment, Joshua glances back and forth between the picture in the PokéDex and the little bird standing before him. "Is it one of those variants?"

Clive reaches into his bag to pull out a small orb, tossing it up into the air and easily catching it. "It caught my eye, at least. I thought that, so long as I was leaving, you might like having a friend. Joshua, I'm going to teach you how to catch a pokémon!"

Clive left the door to the bathroom cracked. Joshua sits in a little huddle outside of it, eyes closed as he breathes in the humid air of his shower. He started at some point while Joshua was napping after a rather involved doctor's appointment, but Joshua awoke just in time to spend some quiet time with his brother. He crawled to the door so quietly that he was certain Clive couldn't hear over the rush of water, and sat, and basked in the warmth that he deserved.
