“Big Naturals” I love it when a joke post turns into a full cosplay. Yes, I made a female version of Withers with the best mod 💅 It was entirely handmade: natural materials, painting, weathering, latex and silicone #BaldursGate3 #BG3 #BaldursGate3Cosplay

Also this only applies to MMOS; single-player games like BG3 making that assumption doesn't frustrate me. That said, I would also be interested in answering how my other Forgotten Realms OCs may have been involved/not involved in the Absolute Crisis.

My GW2 Commander Soirche is a rare exception and one I only made because of how heavily voice acted GW2 is.

I like answering QotDs but I find it mildly frustrating when they're focused on the main story journey and assume your character is the one the story centers. It's useful for making questions about relationships with in-game characters, but I usually don't design characters as "the main character."

Here's Soirche, my Commander, a holosmith (in and out of her exo-suit). I just got done making a thread on her for a Commander QOTD, in fact. And here's Fhiain, my spider-loving soulbeast.

From there, the main changes are how she relates to Scarlet, the Zephyrites, her closeness with Ellen Kiel and Caithe, and her part in designing the Pact airship. Her vision came true at Tarir and cutting down Mordremoth completed her first Hunt. Helping Aurene became her second.

000

Rommy 🏳️‍⚧️ @rommy.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

The Thaumanova Reactor disaster brought Soirche back to Maguuma. She helped cleanup krewes and searched for survivors but several friends she'd made during her years living there died. The next year, the Risen began attacking central Tyria. She returned to aid the Grove where personal story begins.

*age ten, not fifteen. It happened in 1315.

Rommy 🏳️‍⚧️ @rommy.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Whether he did so out of fear or prescience, Soirche found it frustrating that she'd come so far only to hit a dead end. Rather than return home to the Grove, she moved to Lion's Arch and found work maintaining lighthouses for a few years. In her spare time, she built many airship prototypes.

The Lion's Gate lighthouse was operated by Graidy, a priest of Dwayna. Soirche worked this and the Stormbluff Isle lighthouse on behalf of the Lionguard.

Rommy 🏳️‍⚧️ @rommy.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

After five years, however, Soirche felt no closer to understanding her Hunt. When the Zephyr Sanctum was complete, she pleaded to be allowed to join their order. The Master of Peace met with her and she described her Dream to him honestly and in full. In the end, he politely declined her request.

Zephyr Sanctum, the skybound home of the Zephyrites. A mass of sails, ballasts, and bamboo-like wood powered by aspect crystals. Soirche spent five years defending it from attack during its construction at Destiny Gorge and learning airship engineering techniques from its engineers.

100

Rommy 🏳️‍⚧️ @rommy.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Soirche collaborated with Elonian engineers, venturing out to Destiny Gorge and aiding the Zephyrites against the Branded. She constructed her hardlight holosmith's blade with a sun aspect crystal core and found it a surprisingly effective tool against Kralkatorrik's minions.

Soirche, age 15, wearing the garb of an Elonian holosmith and wielding an Zephyrite crystal hardlight blade in her right hand and asuran hardlight shield in her left.

Her right gauntlet contains the activation components for her Photon Forge while the devices on her right shoulder and back serve as a lucent vent. She wears a scope monocle on her left eye.

The sword is empowered by sun aspect crystals and the shield by lightning aspect crystals. Unseen, there's also an additional glider module installed on her back, which uses wind aspect crystals.

Rommy 🏳️‍⚧️ @rommy.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

No longer afraid of the dragons and vines in her Dream, she journeyed to Lion's Arch and from there chartered course to the Crystal Desert. Not without peril, they had to fend off the Risen while sailing near Orr before they landed in Amnoon.

The Risen, undead minions of the Elder Dragon Zhaitan, haunt the coasts and waters around their master's domain, the once-sunken land of Orr.

Rommy 🏳️‍⚧️ @rommy.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Her visions were similar to the canon Commander's, but she also saw airships of reeds rising from sand and crystal, ferrying an orb of golden light to a city of gold. Vines beset the city, darkening all until a blade of light cleft through it. Soirche was unsure if she was the blade or the vines.

A golden orb in a cavern of crystal. Soirche dreamt of this image as an unborn sapling, but would see the same image again later in her life as the Commander when she briefly bore witness to the Antikytheria.

Rommy 🏳️‍⚧️ @rommy.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

One of the rejected theses on magic spectrometry Soirche sent was plagiarized by a roommate and accepted as a graduate-level thesis defense for the College of Dynamics. It was the final straw and affirmed she'd learned enough in Metrica. Now age fifteen, she set off to pursue her Wyld Hunt.

The Luminates Power Plant, a large power plant in Metrica Province where magitech pillars of light shine up from below the ground. Years after Soirche krewed with the Luminates, the asura would begin working to turn the plant into a new city.

200

Rommy 🏳️‍⚧️ @rommy.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

By this point, Ceara was already attending the colleges, and the Arcane Council was not interested in permitting another "exception." What Soirche learned, she learned while working at the plant with the krewe or living in Thaumanova between repeated requests to be admitted into the colleges.

100

Rommy 🏳️‍⚧️ @rommy.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Without realizing it, she'd grown courageous. When the Inquest captured her unit, she coordinated with asura Luminates krewe captives and engineered an escape. Rather than go home, she decided to leave the Wardens, intrigued by asura technology as much as they were intrigued by her intellect.

100

Rommy 🏳️‍⚧️ @rommy.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

As a Warden, Soirche's ingenuity became her most notable trait. She had a knack for creating and setting seed-and-vine traps and turrets and favored the versatility of the sword. In Caledon, she protected others from the krait, befriended the Zopatl, and met Lionsguard and Lion's Arch merchants.

Soirche, a sylvari engineer with bright yellow "hair" leaves dressed in more human-like fabrics obtained from trade with Lion's Arch. She's dressed in a green vest with brown undershirt, a scroll container holstered in front of her chest. A small, red neckerchief covers her throat, matching a cloth wrapped around her right thigh. She has various canteens, containers, and a holstered, metal sword strapped to her belt.

100

Rommy 🏳️‍⚧️ @rommy.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Aife comforted her afterward. She didn't reinforce Ceara's words, but noted the time Soirche spent afraid of the outside world didn't guarantee safety. That very isolation made her vulnerable. Soirche admired Ceara's boldness and wished to be brave herself. Days later, she joined the Wardens.

Aife, a sylvari firstborn and Luminary of the cycle of dawn, a sylvari woman whose foliage features deep greens and soft pinks over her light green skin. An archer and traveler, she encourages dawn bloom sylvari to see the world beyond the Grove.

100

Rommy 🏳️‍⚧️ @rommy.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

The newly-formed Nightmare Court attempted to recruit Soirche into their ranks. When she refused, they kidnapped her. Niamh and her Wardens saved her and many others from corruption. She tearfully expressed her terror to Ceara, who responded by calling Soirche a clingy, weak, dependent coward.

100

Rommy 🏳️‍⚧️ @rommy.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Despite this, she also possessed a keen intellect and insatiable curiosity. Afraid to leave the Pale Tree after the secondborns' encounter with the asura, she hovered near Ceara, who shared her interests but it would be a stretch to call them "friends." Soirche's proximity was tolerated.

Ceara, a secondborn sylvari genius distinguished by her red "hair" petals and attire, would later clash with the Commander as the villain Scarlet Briar.

100

Rommy 🏳️‍⚧️ @rommy.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Soirche's is a little different. Rather than a newborn sapling, Soirche is a secondborn who emerged terrified of her Dream of the Shadow of the Dragon. She has an ambiguous cycle between dawn and noon, born at exactly 6:00am, and was assigned to Aife due to her timidity at the time.

Foil & gold

A short haired woman is standing thighs deep in the sea ; she's posing in a joyful manner and smiling at the camera.
She's wearing a choker, a gold bikini and a silver/foil bomber jacket. She has heavy eyeshadow and black nail polish.
The sky is clear above her with clouds only in the horizon, and small waves are hitting her.
