Any time I go outside to meditate the cats follow me and form a circle around me. My personal bodyguards when I'm the most susceptible to attack......

I make myself laugh and that's all that matters. <3

Okay I'm sorry, I got possessed by a really unfunny idea in my head. It's out of my system now.

Hell run 2026 was a resounding success. I think me being more athletic made it where I wasn't bothered in the slightest and I was in big chill mode the whole day (maybe I should reduce my diet soda intake for 3 hour movies, but that's neither here nor there).

When I left the theaters I overheard some people saying, "I really liked this movie. I really want to play the video games now." I was so happy hearing that. We did it, America. We got more RE fans in the world.

I forgot to update but Resident Evil was good! Love it when men have whimsy, but I do think that if they called it House of the Dead or a Living Dead reboot I wouldn't bat an eye. I hope that at some point they use the success of this movie to adapt one of the stories but I had a very good time.

"Have you considered not drinking diet soda at the movies?" Have you considered telling a bird to stop flying?

110

romanticcancel احسان @romanticcancel.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

3 hours succeeded despite drinking too much diet soda and dying by the halfway point. One more movie left for hell endurance (Resident Evil).

Movie 1 done (Coyote vs. Acme). Time to shovel a roller dawg in time for The Odyssey.

Hell run at theater today. 3 movies for 7 hours. High protein breakfast consumed and diet soda acquired.

Depending on the day if I think about 2's final cutscene I start openly crying. I own the PS5 remake so I'll get to it sometime! I also adore 3, I think that Heather is one of my favorite protags and I love how gross the game looks. I think that 4 is a little inconsistent but I still really like it!

romanticcancel احسان @romanticcancel.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

f is so so good and I want to actually stop being lazy and finish all the endings. Shattered Memories (the 1 remake) has a cult following and it's done by the Her Story team so that one definitely has its fans. (: I think that the ones that made me sad were the PS3 ones for sure haha.

Yeah, the main character escapes inside a box of mangoes after realizing he doesn't like monsters and lives happily ever after. Sorry, spoilers.

I-is this what it feels like to be optimistic about Silent Hill.....? Up until the PS5 era the last Silent Hill that made me smile was 4. Is this what it feels like to be looking forward to Silent Hill games again.....?

romanticcancel احسان @romanticcancel.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

In my perfect world Team Silent would still be around after 4 while f and Townfall still exist. I feel an optimistic trajectory of teams not trying to bluntly make Silent Hill 2 PS2 again and while I welcome the inspiration, I think that the new teams are doing a great job making it their own. <3

Vague review of Silent Hill: Townfall so far: I think that this current era of Silent Hill is what Homecoming really tried their best to do but fell short and I'm glad that the series has so many teams interpreting the gameplay and atmospheric details in their own way. More thoughts when completed.

I have humored the idea of learning Japanese just to buy those releases since they seem to be the only place to have them reasonably priced. Other regions are never so lucky not to spend an arm on those versions. (':

That was my legally mandated demand to play Clock Tower 3 for the year. If enough people don't play Clock Tower 3 my cats will bite my hand (probably also Clock Tower 3 fans).

If you know you know. Every time someone asks for a horror game rec I frame 1 respond, "Play Clock Tower 3. It's beautiful."

romanticcancel احسان @romanticcancel.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

I honestly think that the PS2/GC era is one where you can find a million gems just waiting for you if you ask a horror game fan for recs. I feel like I'm barely scratched the surface as a horror fan.

Ball knowers understand the beauty of a giant executioner with a bloodied hammer chasing you while saying, "Alysssaaaa," while Fantaisie-Impromptu is blasting. Trust me and thank me later.

It really is the bridge between Human Entertainment's SNES/PS1 stalker horror blueprint and what later helped cult classics like Haunting Ground's DNA. It has pacing issues like a lot of smaller budget PS2 games have but the mocaping and balancing horror and comedy are second to none.

It's simultaneously one of the most realized worlds involving Victorian horror while being one of the funniest games I've ever played. I laughed through about 50% of it. I cannot spoil why it's so funny but when you beat the first boss you'll immediately know the vibes.

For this blessed month I implore people to play Clock Tower 3, one of the best horror games that 99% of the population has not played that me and 9 other people are keeping alive.

I was dying inside being sick again because I yearned for the trail walking. I don't have a phone case yet so I'm not super comfy going to the gym without one so the elliptical and lifting has to wait a few days.
