Neuer Rekord @20minuten.bsky.social Headline 3mal wiederholt.

Making progress in optimizing my local AI setup with an MSI RTX 3090 (24GB VRAM GPU) on my 128GB RAM i7, using Qwen 3.8 27B open weight model. Using VS Code with Github Copilot as my Agent harness for now. #devlife #indiedev #AI #Qwen Building a chat system that might or might not go public.

Went to fly in gliders with my son today. Local airfield Schänis held an event for beginners where we could fly with experienced pilots. Managed to be in the air at the same time and enjoyed a moment of formation flying. #flugplatzschaenis

Seriously, Anthropic? Are you actively working towards me cancelling my subscription? #devlife #mcp #Fable5 #Opus5 (creating some templates for standard elements in steel constructions)
Stock ranges are listed, and an off-list size gets an echoed note — flat bar 47 × 5 is not a stock size — while still building. Anything can be ordered; the nudge is there because off-list costs money and lead time, which is easy to forget when a number is just a parameter.

steel/plate.scad
plate(200, 150, 10)
base_plate(160, 160, 10, holes = grid_pattern(110, 110), hole_d = 22, chamfer = 12)
gusset(45, 60, 8, snipe = 9)
base_plate takes any list of [x, y] hole centres — grid_pattern() from fasteners/pattern.scad gives the usual four, or write them out. chamfer snips the corners at 45°.
snipe clips the gusset's right-angle corner so the rib clears the fillet weld already lying in that corner. That's a real fabrication detail, not decoration — without it the rib fouls the weld.
One deliberate decision: hole_d is not derived from a bolt size. Anchor holes run well oversize of the bolt for grout and setting tolerance, and how much is a site decision — 22 mm for an M16 here, but that's mine to suggest and yours to set. Deriving it would have hidden a choice that ought to be explicit.

The palette is complete now: profiles (UPN, IPE, HEA/HEB, angle, hollow), bar, plate, fasteners with holes and joints, and welds that switch off for export.

Fable 5's safeguards flagged this message
The safeguards are intentionally broad right now and may flag safe and routine coding, cybersecurity, or biology work. These measures let us bring you Mythos-level capabilities sooner, and we're working to refine them. Switched to Opus 5.

Finally could spend the time to hook up the liquid level sensor to an ESP32S3 with RS485 and install the sensor in the overflow tank of our infinity pool and write the software for it. Then a rewrite of the hardware-node for the chlorinator/electrolyzer/pH-control and the multivalve #devlife #ESP32

Hello new ESP32S3 dev board with wide DC input voltage range and RS485 interface. I am going to use one of those to upgrade my Tesla Wall Connector Gen2 to support solar optimised charging.

The proxy got a little friend now. A monitor (SignalR client) connecting to the SolarEdge Modbus proxy which is also a SignalR server. All in Rust using my own SignalR server and client implementations. The monitor runs on a #ESP32 C6 with 1.47" display.

So I had to come up with plan E by now. My son found a red CEE16 plug under the loading ramp. Good thing I had packed my Tesla UMC. Now we are charging with 11kW. Just enough to make it to a 22kW charger. The problem with e-mobility is not the lack of charging infrastructure.

Managed to restart. Regen down the hill and make it another 500m to an Illwerke charger. 2x CCS, no more Type2. No problem, E- Werke Frastanz has the whole parking lot full of them. Except the ones for clients are turned off and the ones for their company cars don't work with my cards

Did anyone say SOC% curves are linear? Sure they are, kinda with offsets at the bottom and the top. And not at the same offset for charging and discharging. This is done to make a (compliance) EV look really bad. At this point we will add another 4kWh roughly.

My new solution for the old #smart451ed solves those issues by constantly looking at the battery, calculating true consumption, accurately predicting consumption for the route and planning charging stops accordingly. (I know, I need to keep an eye on cell# 13)

"Range anxiety is a software problem." The problem with an old EV with very limited range is not the limited range. The problem is that these cars don't know where the chargers are and they don't tell you if you can make it to a charger or not. It can be solved. #EV #Software #dotnet #Rust #CSharp
