I will see if the publisher lets me share clips of the music before the release date without mentioning the game, but I wouldn't hold my breath for that. Anyway, I just wanted to post a thing for the four of you that'll read this far. I've made music for a game again, it's quite fun and joyful! 8/x

Well, "quickly" is relative... It took a month and about 3 or 4 demo tracks that I threw away without even presenting them to the client before I got one that I felt confident captured the spirit of the game. They loved it, and I went building from there, and oh boy did I have fun! 7/x

THE MUSIC: it prominently feature SNES, Megadrive and NES emulation as well as modern production techniques of course. But feel unashamedly game-y and retro! I’m very proud of how tight and fun the tracks ended up being and quickly my chops came back after an almost three year hiatus. 6/x

Working with such lovely and competent fellow gamedevs who help you to do your best is unmatched. Then you remember the original feeling of making games with people you get along with and whose work you love. And even if the game bombs, you just wanna keep working with them and make another one! 5/x

It was delightful being a composer and sound ninja again at night and on weekends. Taking a game from “silent” to “it’s alive and has its own soul” is the most riveting feeling a gameaudio person can feel. And the regained pride in their ability one feels when it can come together so quickly! 4/x

We did the whole game in a stupidly short amount of time and for me there was quite a bit of crunch at the end b/c as I have a day job as the “client” (audio producer, and I LOVE my job which I wanna continue doing well, as being on the other side also makes me a better composer I think). 3/x

I audio directed it, composed all the music and did all the Fmod implementation! I outsourced a lot if not most of the SFX assets creation to a SD. But I ended up contributing a lot to the SFX myself too. (once a SD always a SD!) 2/x

So hey it’s been a while but… I finally did a thing again! It’s a new OST for game. Unfortunately I can't say what game it is until it's released! But I can say it's a 2D local multiplayer arcade game full of silly humour coming out in August! Bit of a rambly thread about it :)... 1/x

Game "journalists" who say $80 Mario Kart World is "33%more expensive" than when it was $60 probably never heard of inflation. The sad reality is that in a post-covid economy where you guys decided to elect a rapist bully mafioso Russian agent, $80 in 2025 is exactly the same as $60 in 2017.

Just bought and fired up Lorelei And The Laser Eyes. I haven’t even started playing because I’m struck by this much personality and originality in the title screen music. I’m just sitting here, listening and appreciating all the different things it might be foreshadowing about the game.
