Hey, long time! Poster I whipped up for this gig comin up! Few of my pals playing some punk rock. If you’re in Stoon and happen to like your music fast and dirty, and played by schmucks who can barely play their instruments, then you should check it out! Green Room is a pretty rad new venue. 🤟

For 2025's Dark Bridges, Saskatoon's Horror Film Fest (coming soon!), I re-imagined the "Let's All Go To The Lobby" treats as monsters, and here's the artwork. THANKS FOR LOOKING! #letsallgotothelobby #retrocinema #retrocartoon #vampires #werewolves #zombies #frankenstein #devil #horror #horrorart

A poster design by Huw Evans of EYECATCHER Graphics and Design, for the "Dark Bridges" horror movie festival taking place at the Broadway Theatre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, June 6-8th, 2025. The image shows a takeoff on the classic anthropomorphized cartoon treats from the old "Let's All Go To The Lobby" animated cartoons that played in theatres for decades. In this version, the drink is a vampire (full of blood); the popcorn is a werewolf (because popcorn transforms into something else); the hotdog/frankfurter is the Frankenstein Monster (due to the similar name and the fact they are both made up of random pieces of flesh); the pizza slice is a zombie (with chunks dripping off), and the candy is a devil, complete with a Twizzlers pitchfork and a gummy serpent.

My trippy artwork for terrific local metal band Fake Paradise's new release, "Free Fall", has been released! Does your band need promotional artwork or video? GET AT ME! #heavymetal #classicmetal #heavymusic #metal #fakeparadise #bandart #albumart #animation #blacksabbath

A graphic by Huw Evans showing a young Caucasian male with long brown hair, wearing jeans and a leather jacket and generally looking like a "metal head", as he falls away from the viewer into a black and purple spiral vortex. Custom lettering spells out "Fake paradise", which is the band, and "Free Fall", which is their latest release.

Yup! It’s the only part of my process where it’s smooth sailing, not much brain required 😄, so I find it quite therapeutic…compared to the sketching stage…which is almost always a battle. 🫠

Yeh, Q is a tough one…only thing I could come up with was the Queen Alien. 😅

But it tackles that darker subject matter with such an uplifting “fuck that” attitude, just gets me every time. Like “fuck you world! I WILL endure! Fuckin watch me!” Idk, I luv it…such a gem. 🥲

Not many records give me physical goosebumps when I listen to them…but for some reason this one always does. Something about it just feels sad and tragic throughout, but oddly hopeful too, like you feel it. This song especially…as I’m pretty sure it has to do with battling the thought of suicide.

ROLLES @rolles.bsky.social · 10/12/2024

I was reminded of this gem of a record after chatting with someone recently about how good old Punk-O-Rama comps were back in the day, especially for discovering some obscure punk bands! Definitely an old fav that I tend to forget about, but every song is seared into memory. youtu.be/Lqllw2rOwsc?...

Thanks for the late night artshare!🌛I run such late night hours, I always miss these too late…I feel seen. 🫠 No real gloomy or nighttime works, but I do draw shirts and gig posters for local metal bands and such, so I’d call these dark at least! 🤟😄

Ah…ya, am forgetting that’s Pennywise…not IT…brain slip.😅 Fuck…..Igor? 🤷‍♂️ Invisible Man? There’s gotta be more I’s than that. 😅 Actually Invisible Man would be pretty rad now that I picture it in your style! 🤟

ROLLES @rolles.bsky.social · 09/12/2024

All jokes aside, this IS objectively the best song ever written, and I will kill all opposition if challenged.

000

ROLLES @rolles.bsky.social · 09/12/2024

And if you’re wondering why, it’s not just because of the driving bass, the beauty in its simplicity, or the galaxy surfing lyrics…..it’s probably more because every fuckin second snare hit is matched with a tambourine…and that’s just rad. 😎

110

ROLLES @rolles.bsky.social · 09/12/2024

Oh fuck…of course, IT is so obvious now! 😄

Well…only famous Kaiju I could think of that started with H, so if I was only a betting man… As much as I luv X-Men as well, I’m certainly not mad! 🫠 I is proving a challenge however.

Been ages since I heard the tunes…and I stopped replaying after getting my hands on IV and VI, which I still replay to this day. Now those songs are seared into my brain! 😄 But I’m quite nostalgic for MQ, I’m sure it’d all come back to me pretty quick.

Actually a pretty fun game though…I mean…come on, the retractable claw!? 🤟😄 How many FF games had weapons that interact with environments? And fun fact…Dark King is a tough as hell fight…..until you learn that healing him kills him, then he’s like 6 hits. 😂 I fought him the hard way first time. 🫠

Oh wow…Mystic Quest. 😅 Was my first RPG…so I guess it hit its target audience with me…the stupid American child. 🫠 Though…I was pretty stupid; because FFIV was released as FF2 in the west, I actually thought it was the sequel to Mystic Quest...and I thought that for more years than I care to admit.😅
