![PRAISE FOR HINDSIGHT
Mack Rogers' Hindsight is a glimpse into a word-world that pushes the boundaries and possibilities of form and the lyric. The speaker's movements through space/place/time, seemingly impaired by a neurological disorder called "visual snow," at first seem to go backwards, sifting through memories, both beautiful and painful, of growing up Black and queer—but only to reach toward a future of joy and freedom. Rogers writes "I am afraid of the dark because I am the dark," and yet "see[s] further than any person." At once pensive and whimsical, solemn and celebratory, Hindsight is a testament to the necessity of remaining curious and brave, taking in what the world can offer—even when at first it seems you cannot see.

He has been nominated for Best of the Net, Best New Poets, and the Pushcart Prize. He lives with his partner and their three cats in Raleigh, NC.
