I start knitting new things all the time, but I think this is the first knitted object I've actually *finished* in a few years. Behold... A scarf.

A pastel-rainbow cabled knit scarf. It has a central twisting cable with three-strand braids either side. The tension is inconsistent and a lot of the stitches are wobbly.

In fairness, the plan is for Thriving Kids to fund (some of) those therapies, just not via MBS numbers. They're being block funded instead, so it won't go through the Medicare system at all. This isn't me endorsing TK by any stretch -- but if we're criticising it, we should be clear on the details.

When it was first implemented, in the trial phase, yes. The participants met with Planners directly, often multiple times, and bespoke packages were made to support that individual's unique needs and goals. Then there was a change of govt during the rollout to "Full Scheme" and it all went wrong.

Blow your 11yo's mind by telling them that some people don't think in language at all. Some think in pictures, connections and networks, shapes and textures, or with even more abstract concepts. But if a deaf person thinks in language, and sign is their main language, then yes.
