@secondmentions.com "vitamin C rich fruit"
Man hurls fruit at bus

AN angry man ran after a bus pelting it with oranges after a near miss in Camden Town. The man drew all six pieces of his vitamin C rich fruit from a Sainsbury's bag as he chased the 29 bus down Camden High Street on Friday.

Reminds me of the Giles cartoon: 'VE Day 1945: "Now it's over, I'll get some leave and repair that gutter and put a couple of boards in that fence." VE Day 1985' [gutter and fence unchanged]- Carl Giles, Sunday Express, 5 May 1985

Ah, Sonia Sodha who refers to the non-existent "DEI infrastructure in the UK" (we use the term EDI) while accusing a fellow journalist of "egregious and basic errors"
Sonia Sodha

@soniaso....

...

The assumptions are justified, lan, because you so clearly don't understand the law, and reiterate misinformation about the Equality Act. Really disappointing to see a journalist commit such egregious and basic errors. Did you read the Supreme Court judgment?

Sonia Sodha

@soniasodha

...

Personally I've long thought the whole DEI infrastructure in the UK under prioritises disability. But it's hard to look past the disregard for women's rights, set out in the Equality Act, in your piece and the basic legal misinformation.

In 1982 someone called Bart Khan claimed to be able to store 9.9GB in a six-inch cube - which would be unremarkable today of course, but back then a gigabyte was a purely theoretical concept (Micro Computer, May 1982)
Floppy disk manufacturers should be quaking in their boots as word gets out of Bart Khan and his amazing cube. Mr Khan, who is chairman of a company called MicroXeno, says the six-inch cube will store at least 9.9 gigabytes (that's 9,900 million bytes) of data. For some reason no-one seems prepared to lend Mr Khan the money to manufacture the ineffable cube. MicroXeno recently advertised itself as "rapidly becoming the world's largest network of consultants... in computer technology." The company had
five employees at the time.

Happened to be in Traf Sq when Peter Tatchell took the stage for Republic Day. Thought his rousing speech missed a key point that the institution of monarchy includes the Royal Prerogative, which is exercised in practice by the govt of the day, enabling them to bypass parliamentary accountability
