Another finished commission inspired by the client's home country: Mauritius' landscape and nature. #stainglass #traditionalart #christianart

A framed stain glass painting with the verse Psalm 91:1-2. The painting is a purple and red landscape of mountains surrounding a silver lake. Two white birds fly in the distance on the left, while a single white bird sits at the bottom right.

POV: You're the kid that loves soft hearts 💜 Saw this trend come around and I realized I never really had one colour, genre, or style I gravitated to. As an adult, I realize that, like myself, my favourite characters are the selfless, the ones seeking truth and the ones who extend kindness. #art

Had the pleasure of drawing my cousin's fave One Piece characters. They're lined up like this as a reference to Guardians of the Galaxy One. This artwork is meant to be the center of a wanted poster (but I'm not posting that cause it has personal details) #onepiece #animefanart #luffy #sanji

The full version of my render of the redesign of the Red Queen from Lewis Carroll's "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland." Time-lapse attached below. #fantasyart #fyp #digital #drawing

A humanoid robot made with red metal poses to strike. Their hands, tipped with gold, are posed as claws. They wear a cape with a pink outer layer and lavender inner layer. They have hair that cascades over their entire body in gradients of rosy pink to white. They wear a graphic crown that floats above them. The crown has a graphic heart at the center. The crown overall is a deep maroon.

I've been pondering over my annual "self-portrait" for my socials. However, this has been the year when I've felt less and less like wanting my face, name, and art to be center stage on the internet. With privacy issues, AI, and the idea of popularity abounding. I was reminded of Clippy.

A drawing of a paper clip with eyes standing over a piece of paper with the word "ART" written in teal.

The thing thats so insidious about using AI this way is that one of the main ways artists get hired are studios looking for art references and they find us and reach out. This is removing a major avenue to get work if they can just generate nameless derivations of our ideas.

Swen Vincke @LarAtLarian

Holy fuck guys we’re not "pushing hard" for or replacing concept artists with AI.

We have a team of 72 artists of which 23 are concept artists and we are hiring more. The art they create is original and I’m very proud of what they do.

I was asked explicitly about concept art and our use of Gen AI. I answered that we use it to explore things. I didn’t say we use it to develop concept art. The artists do that. And they are indeed world class artists.

We use AI tools to explore references, just like we use google and art books. At the very early ideation stages we use it as a rough outline for composition which we replace with original concept art. There is no comparison.

I talked about how we use ML here if you would like to know more:
https://gamespot.com/articles/baldurs-gate-3-dev-embraces-machine-learning-for-tasks-that-nobody-wants-to-do/1100-6531123/

We've hired creatives for their talent, not for their ability to do what a machine suggests, but they can experiment with these tools to make their lives easier.

Watched #WickedforGood last night. I didn't think about how relevant Wicked would be. But for a plot surrounding the emphasis of how lies shape up the zeitgeist. To the point that people believe what they want to. It's our reality with people's lies being enabled with GenAI.

I've been preparing for an upcoming comic by doing little snippets of slice-of-life entries called "Scraps." I thought it would be a fun way to introduce the characters of the short story while also exploring what style best fits them. Enjoy "Boots." #comic #astronaut #dog #cartoon
