We correlated discrimination with all the outcomes in the study, and correlations were compared against others who also experienced discrimination. Some relevance for her self-concept and anxiety, but emotion-defense links were weaker on days experiencing discrimination.
discrimination associated with daily variables.

We see different patterns for emotion-defense links depending on the emotion, and some of those effects were stronger than others in the sample. Note with t=14 the correlations need to be huge to even reach the p<.10 significance we use, so maybe is a pretty obvious pattern to the person anyway.
self-other and emotion-defense associations for the participant and how they compare to others in the study.

We see interesting patterns for detachment, which was higher overall compared to others and had a more potent lagged effects compared to others in the study.
daily AMPD variables aggregated into within-person summary statistics, and compared against the rest of the sample using M and SD to derive convenience based T scores.

Same thing for emotion-defense within-person associations. Stronger linkages for people higher in TS, non-significant for people reporting higher discrimination that day. For people reporting higher discrimination overall (bottom row) we see weaker linkages of defenses with empty/depressed emotions.
moderations of emotion-defense patterns across PTSS and discrimination.

We used within-person associations among the self and other items, and emotion and defense items to create patterns of self-other and emotion-defenses. TS and discrimination again showed distinct patterns of moderation. TS strengthened links of self-other patterns while discrimination did not.

Did the same thing with psychodynamic-like daily self report items of self concept, others, emotions, and defenses. Again distinct pattern for TS and discrimination.
Table 3 correlating PTSS and daily iMean of discrimination with several variables that could be consistent with psychodynamic concepts.

TS and discrimination had different association pattern with outcomes (AMPD at baseline, aggregated into iMean and MSSD, moderation of lagged AMPD variables). This is consistent with the view that discrimination has important impacts on personality, but useful to conceptualize as distinct from TS.

Spoken like a person who recently tried to download an article from ResearchGate.
Common security check screening on research gate. It requires the complex task of checking a box to promise that you are a human. Much like the NEO-PI-3 validity questions that literally just ask you if you answered honestly.

Just made a donation on behalf of Alice Lastname. Cheers!
Confirmation record of a donation made after reading an unnecessarily antagonistic exchange between the founder and some random account. Putting my spite to good use.

Me: My daughter is so sweet she gave our dog Luna a bead necklace. 2 hours, $400, and 1 stomach pump later, it turns out Luna swallowed 30 beads and plastic string. Journal action editor: yea so you can just ask for an extension on your late review without giving a reason.

Really nice study I enjoyed reading it. I like this new cooccurrence index and sounds like you calculated it this way (pictured). Why did you use 85th percentile for the total sample rather than a person specific threshold (say +\- 2SD)?

In hindsight, the Celtics playoff t-shirts were pretty spot on. Different in not making 3s, moving the ball, or playing defense in the 4th. Celtics in 7.

Just donated to @standupforscience.bsky.social In support of all your efforts today. Too cold/sick for this little one to go out, but very thankful for antibiotics this week.
