Rob @robxscott.bsky.social · 27/08/2026Digital #portrait painting of my friend Errol, from a photo. Hard to tell but he's giving us the thumbs up! Quite pleased with this one, good practice again. Really tiny changes to his mouth to try to capture his very subtle smile! We were in a night club, hence purple hues... #kleineKunstklasse 000
Rob @robxscott.bsky.social · 22/08/2026For last week's #portraitchallenge, I didn’t want to draw a passive Māori woman sitting politely for a Victorian photographer. Instead, I've depicted a fierce Māori female politician leading a protest haka in the NZ Parliament in 2025, while The Speaker watches on, unimpressed. Non conformance! 271
Rob @robxscott.bsky.social · 11/08/2026Timelapse video of my self portrait above... Hands up I did resize a couple of the construction lines and the glasses! Really pleased with how it turned out! The space on the left is where my reference photo sits, while I'm painting. 010

Rob @robxscott.bsky.social · 28/07/2026#proporly Brian Adams #kleineKunstklasse (note to self, don't paint what you think you see... Because 80s hair was MUCH bigger than you think!) 0110
Rob @robxscott.bsky.social · 24/07/2026#portraitchallenge loved the @lizmtwt.bsky.social work so much that I started making a version of that instead! 😁 Really loved this challenge! Never thought to paint a bronze! I'm often stuck painting what's in my head, and not what I see... maybe this helped to free my mind!? #kleinekunstklasse 2163
Rob @robxscott.bsky.social · 09/07/2026Last weeks #portraitchallenge #kleinekunstklasse Thanks as usual @schnagi.bsky.social 1122
Rob @robxscott.bsky.social · 30/06/2026My #portraitchallenge copy of the portrait of John Count McCormack, by William Orpen in 1923. As ever, great to practice my #digitalpainting. Body too long and small head, but quite pleased with some of the brush strokes. At times it looked terrible, I realised I could work over it to recover! 0101
Rob @robxscott.bsky.social · 19/06/2026More digital painting practice - trying to be quick and free...dropped the pencil prep sketches and straight into the 'paint'. Not great proportions but pleased with the feel. #kleineKunstklasse ... taking inspiration from chiaroscuro photography by: www.alexandriahuff.com/Chiaroscuro-... 030

Rob @robxscott.bsky.social · 12/06/2026I've tried to draw like Schiele previously but always overworked it! so this was great to try this #portraitchallenge with quick wobbly lines on a short train journey into London Bridge! 9 minutes. Thanks schnagi! #kleinekunstklasse 0235

Rob @robxscott.bsky.social · 30/05/2026This week's #portraitchallenge! Tried to be a bit looser with my brush strokes like @lizmtwt.bsky.social (not very successfully! Face overworked!). Quite pleased though... Even though she really doesn't look ANYTHING like the original! 😂 (cc @barbarapabu.eurosky.social) #kleinekunstklasse 1142
Rob @robxscott.bsky.social · 09/05/2026Late to last week's #portraitchallenge party! Digital painting with #infinitepainter . #kleinekunstklasse 0133
Rob @robxscott.bsky.social · 25/04/2026#portraitchallenge trying out blending for her skin and highlights... Learned a lot! ... Not really happy with the initial sketch proportions of her face, but happy to move on! Digital pencil sketch using #infinitepainter #kleinekunstklasse 0140
Rob @robxscott.bsky.social · 21/04/2026My #portraitchallenge. Enjoyed this one! I've never made pen drawings 'irl'. Perhaps I don't like the finality or precision I think it needs...? Pencil feels safer?! Always love the pen work of others here, including @rikedraws.bsky.social & @cthonicyouth.bsky.social... #kleineKunstklasse 1152
Rob @robxscott.bsky.social · 14/04/2026My version of Dr Pozzi, shown providing a subtle middle finger message to any homophobes or misogynists out there! After John Singer Sargents 1881 painting. #portraitchallenge #kleinekunstklasse Digital painting using #infinitepainter 0142
Rob @robxscott.bsky.social · 02/04/2026Self portrait from photo... strong light from above /behind with shadows. I felt really inspired by the amazing Claire Tabouret portraits I saw last week at the Voorlinden Gallery #infinitepainter #mARTch #kleineKunstklasse #ArtChallenge 040
Rob @robxscott.bsky.social · 27/03/2026🧵 2 of 2 This close up of 'The Dock' by Claire Tabouret from Voorlinden is amazing, the light on the boys arm and shoulders is just incredible! I definitely want to try to make a study of this one day! #KleineKunstklasse #artyear 030
Rob @robxscott.bsky.social · 27/03/2026Visited the amazing www.voorlinden.nl Gallery this week, near The Hague. Really impressed. Lovely architecture, and incredibly thought provoking and high quality art. 10 metres of sound by Philip Vermuelen was incredible - two ropes spinning incredibly fast, loudly! Some faves #kleinekunstklasse 150
Rob @robxscott.bsky.social · 10/03/2026#Lifedrawing at the clock house tavern in Peckham again tonight! #Pencilsketch #kleinekunstklasse 140
Rob @robxscott.bsky.social · 08/03/2026First time doing a #selfportrait. Really pleased with how it turned out (although it doesn't really look like me!). Could have spent more time on the initial sketch, but was great practicing more with digital painting. #kleinekunstklasse 060
Rob @robxscott.bsky.social · 06/03/2026#portraitchallenge a #digitalpaint version of 'Man Reading' by John Singer Sargent (1904). Really happy with the speed & proportions in my initial sketch... Continuing to learn techniques with the digital oil brushes. Could have refined more but I'm keen to get quicker &looser! #infinitepainter 0110
Rob @robxscott.bsky.social · 02/03/2026Another slightly quicker sketch from tonight's #urbansketching pop up at the Barbican conservatory tonight. #artyear 010
Rob @robxscott.bsky.social · 02/03/2026Some photos of this amazing space, in the incredible brutalist masterpiece in Central London. Londons second largest greenhouse after Kew! 000
Rob @robxscott.bsky.social · 02/03/2026Great evening tonight #urbansketching at the conservatory greenhouse in the Barbican. First time trying to use my tablet like this... Pleased with the results, but this one sketch took a LONG time! Was great to test different brushes and techniques, and trying out layering of textures over colour. 110
Rob @robxscott.bsky.social · 22/02/2026This was my first attempt! Felt it was OK, except pencil lines too dark, but then I hit on the idea that I could select and grow different parts to fix some dodgy proportions! So had a very quick play 000
Rob @robxscott.bsky.social · 22/02/2026Enjoyed a 45min #digitalpainting session for #portraitchallenge. This looks pretty odd, but I quite like that! My 1st go in some ways was better (annoyingly construction lines too dark), except my proportions were WAY off... So got to work with lasso and transform to upscaling her face then eyes! 🤣 140
Rob @robxscott.bsky.social · 13/02/2026I was Inspired by two paintings by Jeanne Mammen. Rob @robxscott.bsky.social · 05/02/2026Inspired by this original www.wikiart.org/en/hendra-gu... Hendra Gunawan painting two women having meal, 1971 010
