iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

I keep them in the loop about future vacation plans and other days I am not available. It’s really easy to make sure they know my availability well in advance. Being a contractor does not free me from good communication with my clients.

While I can decide what days I work and what days I do not I have clients whose salespeople go and get the work I do and they absolutely need to know my availability.

Rob Usdin @robusdin.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

Speaking as a 1099 independent contractor who is an IT trainer and courseware developer: it would be bad for my business to not communicate to my clients my availability.

Rob Usdin @robusdin.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

I'll be there all three days - hope to see you!

And when they have their own show…..watch out!

Cartoon fish wearing a suit and hat inside a frame. Text reads: MUDDY MUDSKIPPER SHOW.

Probably the most likely place now to see that high school girl who was a centerfold. “Those ripe juicy melons….were magic to the touch….to see her in the produce aisle was really just too much….”

Why is the council being addressed? Shouldn’t that be a BOE matter?

100

Rob Usdin @robusdin.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

On that I agree - we don't have a fully functional 4th estate anymore because they are too beholden to the oligarchical media ownership.

010

Rob Usdin @robusdin.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

I think there are factions of both. And I definitelt don't put that one senator asking that question in the second group.

000

Rob Usdin @robusdin.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

Why do you think that? Isn't it more plausible they just didn't do the research properly (because they never do).

100

Rob Usdin @robusdin.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

I think it’s going to be forgotten. Media has already moved on.

000

Rob Usdin @robusdin.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

I think it is way more likely the staffer who attempted to create the gotcha question to be asked wasn’t smart enough to understand the difference.

Reminded of this song while listening to a replay of AT40’s 1982 year end countdown. It was #65 for 1982 and peaked at #9! Almost never hear it anymore. youtu.be/o9ihV2WnOgE?is

Adding on - I did send feedback through the Copilot app's feedback function but man - it is super annoying that the app doesn't show the personal chats I had and only shows the 365 chats and that I have to use the web version to see those. Is feedback paid attention to?

000

Rob Usdin @robusdin.bsky.social · 28/08/2026

@jenmsft.bsky.social Who is on the Copilot Team if anyone on the socials? The now merged Copilot/Copilot 365 app thing in Windows 11 shows this and it's a pain point right now:

And that’s fine and we got some already this season and will get some more. But the haranguing for this episode is just off the charts worse than the musical episode and rivals Starfleet Academy too.

000

Rob Usdin @robusdin.bsky.social · 20/08/2026

I saw lots of people just flat out being upset with so many "unusual" episodes this season. They want space navy, not thoughtful sci-fi that explores us on different levels. But I was also pissed at the f'ing Threads algorithm surfacing that kind of piss and moan that I used to get on Twitter.

101

Rob Usdin @robusdin.bsky.social · 20/08/2026

OMG I opened Threads (already on my cesspool/kinda crappy list) and the nerd rage about Star Trek SNW’s puppet episode is off the charts. I enjoyed the episode. I saw where it was going a mile away but was happy to be along for the ride. No spoilers here please, others may not have watched yet.

Dunno how you try and drum up a fresh 80’s-style red scare at the same time you’re giving a handy to North Korea.

Quick spoiler free Lanterns thought: It's not entirely what I expected in a good way. First trailer did not do it for me. Second trailer made it seem a little better. First episode's direction definitely better than I thought it was going to be.

This is great! The game is a lot of fun. You should post about this on Facebook!

Can we also talk about board and card games getting digital adaptation? Notably Dice Throne goes into alpha testing next week!

Watched the first half hour of the D&D keynote and they are really pulling out all the stops to try and get some credibility back. Gygax(Luke, Jr)! Hickman! Salvatore! Greyhawk! Dragonlance! Dark Sun! New original Greyhawk full module adventure! Dark Sun is….mature rated D&D…

The stream is eclectic in a way that the non-comm adult alternatives aren’t. Alternative from the 70s all the way to today. More energy to it.

010

Rob Usdin @robusdin.bsky.social · 24/07/2026

Try Dare Fm for a change of pace. They skew more on the new wave side of alternative. WDRE Philly was born from the original WDRE on Long Island, previously WLIR - one of the first true alternative stations in the US. Being in the shadow of NYC helped them break so many bands.

100

Rob Usdin @robusdin.bsky.social · 24/07/2026

And for variety with a more classic alternative/new wave/new alternative that fits with that stuff feel I throw on Dare-FM, which is run by folks who ran WLIR/WDRE on Long Island. wdarefm.com - really, really great mix.

WXPN out of Philly apparently went all Yacht Rock today and I just looked at the playlist for everything they played today. It is the most commercial, mainstream they have ever sounded.

Today’s was somewhat easy, being the obvious choice but I think they’ll get harder from here on out. Add to the daily routine!

So - if there was a DC crossover music-verse - what musicians would you suggest for the Justice League? I have a few in mind but I'd love to hear your picks - what musical icons would be mashed up as Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, etc....? Villains too...

000

Rob Usdin @robusdin.bsky.social · 25/06/2026

Villains were: Doc Ock - Kid Rock Sandman - Vanilla Ice Vulture - Ted Nugent Electro - Gene Simmons

100

Rob Usdin @robusdin.bsky.social · 25/06/2026

I've also run a Marvel RPG game where I had other musician/super hero mashups and the roster looked like this: Avengers: Iron Man - Dave Grohl Thor - Robert Plant Captain America - Lin-Manuel Miranda Hulk - Rivers Cuomo

110

Rob Usdin @robusdin.bsky.social · 25/06/2026

As you all probably have seen (just look at my profile pic) - I've cosplayed a "music-verse" version of Weird Al in the Marvel Universe named "Weird Pete" Spide-ovic (because if there is a Spider Punk, there's gotta be friendly neighborhood accordion playing. song parodying crime fighter, right?).
