After a full day and a half of gutting my old computer and building a new one with more modern parts, I can finally play the most advanced game ever produced
Two computer cases lie open on a table. Wires and components are scattered about haphazardly, spilling out of the cases and amongst cardboard packaging and tools on the table.A computer monitor, with a small window open playing "Space Cadet Pinball", which I think shipped with Windows XP?

The clock was created by Ray Saunders, who passed away just over a week ago. Folks have been memorializing him at the clock. Some more snaps:
Another angle of the gastown clock, still billowing steam, with flowers and handwritten notes and a big sign commemorating Ray.A picture memorial of Ray, stuck to the clock on the central window below the visible mechanics of its interior. There's a photo of Ray: glasses, trim white beard, a black top hat and waistcoat, standing in front of his creation, smiling on a sunny day. The text at the top reads RAYMOND LEE SAUNDERS "Father Time" 1940 - 2024. Theres more tiny text below the photo.

BTW, here's an atmospheric image of the clock i took just now, with lights glowing in the fog. I went past it to investigate the music, but the sign next to it doesn't say anything about the song. It is, however, part of a memorial to the clock's creator.
The famous steam-powered clock in Vancouver's Gastown. A cloud of steam billows from the musical pipes in its top, in a misty, after-sunset scene where the glow of the streetlamps and Christmas lights illuminate the cobblestones. Anonymous passers-by dot the street nearby.

But the essay that sticks with me is the one by Eugene Burger. Are Card Tricks Card Magic?
A photo of the relevant page in the book. The title "Are Card Tricks Magic" is superimposed in white font over a black square. Underneath, the authors name: "Eugene Burger", followed by a short biography in italic font, followed by the first paragraph of the essay. The text is cut off by the framing of the photo.

This is Square One.
A hand holding a thin, square, paperback book. The cover is blank white aside from a small black square in the bottom right corner. Inside the square, at the bottom right, is the word "ONE" in white sans-serif font.

By the way, this is what my desk looks like. If you see anything you don't like uuuuh unfollow me I guess? And if you see something you like, you can have it. *please* come and take it
A very untidy desk. A computer monitor with an open linux terminal sits above countless scattered papers, receipts, handwritten notes, and other totchkes surrounding a keyboard. Objects that stand out include a blue dusting mop, a podcasting mic, a small analog timer, several decks of cards, and a coin sorter that looks like a cluster of brass pipes.
