Good news! Woah Dave! Deluxe! is coming to Playdate as a FREE UPDATE! REALLY SOON! It's got almost everything the original arcade and home console versions had. Boss battles, bonus aliens, rideable UFOs...the WORKS!

What did I ever do to you? Rude.

First time umpiring with a plate coat. I like it! No more fiddling with ball bags on my belt and you stay pretty warm once the sun goes down.

I decided I wanted the Berzerk Coleco ”Revival” tabletop to look more like the prototype presented in the 1982 Coleco catalog. I could really only keep it 1 player, but It looks GREAT now! (pre-mod image included)

Prototype pictured in 1982 Coleco catalog, never released.

After modifications. Single button, white control schemes, new labels matching prototype, proper bezel added.

Tournament season around here! Nice to work in 4-man crews with my dudes. That's me on the right ready to work 1st base. I called abandonment in one of these games, which I may never get to call again. So weird.

Four baseball umpires around home plate for a pre-game plate meeting.

What’s your favorite THQ release?

Modding fairly common old consoles with modern power and AV solutions is always acceptable in my opinion. This Intellivision II now has USB C power and composite out.

Folks, I have an insane announcement to make: I have come across, in the wild, an Atari CX-2000 “VAL” prototype in functioning condition.

As a 90’s teen, scanning this ad from top to bottom would make you growingly more and more depressed as you descend the page.

Was away from umpiring for over 4 months to tend to my health, but went back at it tonight at a super fun travel ball game.

What game do you absolutely love that is almost universally hated? I actually have many, but M.U.S.C.L.E on the NES is definitely up there.

Taking in an absolutely incredible jazz show with Ashwin Batish at Kuumbwa in Santa Cruz. Just amazing.

This is a zoomed-in shot, but I was seated a good 300+ feet from home plate. A dude next to me was yelling at the umpire about pitches. Slapping strangers is unfortunately illegal.

HI FRIENDS. FYI, a patch is now available for Tetris Forever that fixes a crappy bug I introduced that dorked multiplayer in Tetris Time Warp. Players were not able to climb out of the E60 challenge. My apologies!

Tonight’s dinner music is the incredible Atari 50 soundtrack by the incredible @bob.town . I am partial to the Neo Breakout tunes, but they are all spectacular. Listening on my Sound Burger hooked up to my old Sony stereo system.

I have to say, as the developer of Tetris Time Warp and the E60 Simulator, it's a little wild for me to see screenshots of my work on the back of this box next to photos of Alexey and Henk. One of the biggest honors of my career.

How is this OK, @nintendousa.bsky.social ? Why would I want my kids to own a Switch with this garbage on the eShop? Do you guys at NOA know what these Japanese words mean?

Fun fact: when I’m not developing video games, you can find me umpiring baseball games. I love it…listen to that excitement. No better seat in the house!
