If anyone can't get to see the Bayeux Tapestry in London, there's a representation of it on the 11th c. church font in Contrières. Practically identical. Saved you thirty quid.

a) I used to do it at 42 or 43 in an older oven, and the new oven only does 5° increments, so I tried 45, and it's consistently better. b) It's done in 4 hours, but the punters prefer it sourer, so usually 6. c) Not my problem. d) Not sure I'd fit 5 jars in an air fryer. If I had an air fryer.

Was looking for another picture, and found this one, which I have no memory of taking. I assume it's a lamp.
In a junkshop/fleamarket, there's a what I assume to be a lamp in the form of a human torso, roughly from rib cage to neck, in ceramic orange with conical, blancmange-shaped breasts, caged in a kind of wire and leather bra. Most odd.

Just went looking for something else on FB, and found this. Christ.
Poetry posted to Facebook. Draw your own conclusions:

Back in the days of tanners and bobs,
When Mothers had patience and Fathers had jobs.
When football team families wore hand me down shoes,
And T.V gave only two channels to choose.
Back in the days of three penny bits,
when schools employed nurses to search for your nits.
When snowballs were harmless; ice slides were permitted
and all of your jumpers were warm and hand knitted.
Back in the days of hot ginger beers,
when children remained so for more than six years.
When children respected what older folks said,
and pot was a thing you kept under your bed.
Back in the days of Listen with Mother,
when neighbours were friendly and talked to each other.
When cars were so rare you could play in the street.
When Doctors made house calls and Police walked the beat.
Back in the days of Milligan's Goons,
when butter was butter and songs all had tunes.
It was dumplings for dinner and trifle for tea,
and your annual break was a day by the sea.
Back in the days of Dixon's Dock Green,
Crackerjack pens and Lyons ice cream.
When children could freely wear National Health glasses,
and teachers all stood at the FRONT of their classes.
Back in the days of rocking and reeling,
when mobiles were things that you hung from the ceiling.
When woodwork and pottery got taught in schools,
and everyone dreamed of a win on the pools.
Back in the days when I was a lad,
I can't help but smile for the fun that I had.
Hopscotch and roller skates; snowballs to lob.
Back in the days of tanners and bobs.

I'd love to know the back story of this matching pair of absolutely bonkers pair of houses near me. Huge and rambling and ornate, but set in ramshackle sea of modest semis and terraced. Student or institutional housing now but presumably fairly well-to-do owners with servants BITD.
A mirror-matched pair of 3 story corner houses in red brick with white quoins and various half-timbered bits and pieces of random ornament. As if the Munsters lived on the shabby side of Oxford. The right hand house, seen closer to.

When it comes to leftover Bolognese, there are two kinds of people. There's "Oh, I'll just have spaghetti again tomorrow" and there's "I'll knead some crumbled fried onions into bread dough, layer and fold it with grated butter, and make some little pasty things".
