I score zero‽ Consider me self-appointed on the vibes criterion.

At first glance I thought this was the global average. It's for one of the regions with the most warming from el niño. Still bad though. Small consolation.

Fun little reminder about exponential growth- there is no objective "knee of the curve" For example this is y=eˣ shown at different x values, with the y axis autofit.

They're using Slack to send these alerts? Their human in the safety loop receives a Slack message? The enterprise messaging software? And replies via? Slack? This is simply not how safety is done in any industry that must take safety seriously.

Oh, and it did a pelican too, since I pointed it to that blog post. Still just one prompt from me. Again with rotation errors. But like, not bad for something I didn't know could be done at all. Feedback would probably go a long way. Wild.

FWIW it's still making changes, but I don't think its noticed the obvious error on the rotation of the donut. (Yep, bigger sprinkles, rotation issues)

Ok, had to see the LLM→Blender pipeline myself. This is GLM5.3 and a harness not optimized for this at all. First test rendered. I didn't tell it what to build, so of course I got a donut. Impressed I got anything at all after a single prompt.

Yes, there is a reason. I did this recently (for a relative's Win 10 machine) - you can dd the iso to a usb - you can even kind-of boot from it - the installer will fail Kept happening until I found another windows machine and used the MS disk creation tool.

If the price of robot labor doesn't almost immediately fall below minimum wage and continue trending towards zero, it's an indicator of very bad times to come. (supply is essentially 0 today, so pricing will be whatever they want as part of their demo, I mean when this is really available)

Musk said it’s inevitable that AI models will one day become so advanced they’ll be impossible for humans to control.

That’s exactly why, he explained to the Cursor employees, it’s imperative that SpaceX’s AI division builds the technology before other companies do.

Dish soap will strip the wax layer. Not necessarily a bad thing, but you'll want to re-wax it. Otherwise the clearcoat and then paint layer are susceptible to damage, and you can quickly get to this situation:

Framed as a lawnmowing puzzle, minimizing revisited squares was like 3rd on my list of factors to optimize.
Sarah also did something that appeared a bit unnatural. Instead of simply continuing straight a few times, she intuitively and preemptively turned in a snake-like pattern. This highlighted a key difference between real-life mowing and our simplified game, an approach that strong mowers exploited. Sarah, an avid gamer, seemed to recognize this strategy immediately.

The reality of superintelligence is unpredictable. That should worry you, even if there are many possible good endings.
The same chart as above, but with some changes:
- the chart title is "Reality"
- the intelligence levels have been shifted, with equal large gaps between ant, bird, chimp, and "dumb human", and only a small gap from there to "Einstein"
- the trendline has been extended forward, and it is clearly exponential, crossing through every level and extending nearly vertical where it leaves the chart
- next to the stick figure saying "Haha that's adorable the funny robot can do monkey tricks!", there's a second figure, on the other side of the trend line, saying "The fuck??"

The replies in this thread:
Hand-drawn chart titled "Our Distorted View of Intelligence". Axes are Intelligence over time. Any, bird, chimp levels are labeled near the bottom, with a slightly curving trend line through each, stopping at the present day (note: the image is 5+ years old). Well above those animal levels is "dumb human" then "Einstein".

A stick figure at the present day, where the line just reaches chimp level says "Haha that's adorable the funny robot can do monkey tricks"

Is this normal, for an IPO? Only 13% voting control for the new public shares? Jersey Mike's here, but I've seen these low % on a few lately. Has it always been like this, or were public voting % higher a decade+ ago?

E.g. here's how I'm doing lately. Room for improvement, but I'm probably doing better than almost anyone who isn't keeping and reviewing this data about themselves. Ideally everything would be on the diagonal, green just above and red just below.

Burrito taxi has made in-store items more expensive. Convenient $17 footlong? It's only $2 more. Worth it. But the footlong was never $15 until the restaurants decided to capture more of the value the burrito taxi was taking.
