Apparently centrifugal force still exists, however, so I’m thinking friction holding isn’t an option for a circular stock. Back to the drawing board, I guess… #CNC #art 010

I cut the finger gap way too large & didn’t consider that downward pressure could tilt the blank But, I’m excited about the new 1/32” (0.08mm) tapered 12° ball nose bit I got to test for *checks notes* 9 seconds! #CNC #art 030

Upgraded my CNC from a Genmitsu 3020 to a Shapeoko 5.1 Pro 4x4 Going from a work area of 11.8x15.75” (300x400mm) to 47.5x49” (1200x1245mm) Resting on some saw horses until the table legs come next week, and planning some fun cuts in the meantime! I forgot my kerf settings so the inlay is smaller than the pocket, but the test here was to get a .25mm pocket in walnut & finding cutting settings for the shell veneer.
