While Americans are struggling to afford housing, gas, and groceries, Trump plans to host an “exclusive” dinner for the biggest buyers of the meme coin that earned him an estimated $635 million. At the expense of the American people, Trump repeatedly shows he can be bought.

Did Trump just suggest letting Iran bomb two American cities? These are outrageous, reckless, and DANGEROUS comments being made by the President of the United States. This is gravely concerning.

The United States would not be what it is today without the contributions and sacrifices of the LGBTQ+ community. This LGBTQ+ History Month, I honor the progress they’ve made towards equal rights and stand with the community as they face attacks threatening to undo that work.

Literature has the power to change perspectives, teach lessons, and to share ideas. Nobody should be able to take that away from the public. This Banned Books Week, let’s remember that, in the face of attacks on truth and diversity, all Americans deserve the freedom to read.

This week, new SNAP cuts took effect. Since Republicans passed Trump’s Big Ugly Law, SNAP participation in Illinois has fallen 24%, and now these cuts will make it harder for families to put food on the table. Parents are skipping meals while the wealthy get tax breaks.

“We the People,” the theme of NAACP’s Freedom Fund Gala last weekend, is more than a phrase. It’s how Black people got into spaces not meant for us: through organizing, activism, and community. We must keep doing so — not just for our sake, but for our democracy.

Congress holds the power of the purse. Trump’s pocket rescission that cancels $810 million in federal funding is outright ILLEGAL. House Republicans must address the President’s continued undermining of the separation of powers, and he must be held accountable.

HHS Secretary Kennedy took $12 million from the Office of Minority Health and used it for his own personal security. He is using money that was meant to help close the health disparity gap, and save lives, as his own personal spending cash. This administration’s corruption is endless.
