Colorado Wild @robin34.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Maybe I’m an eternal optimist, but I planted my garlic today in hopes of a drought-free Colorado winter. 🤞🧄 160
Colorado Wild @robin34.bsky.social · 24/09/2026We adopted Taz four years ago after his owner died. He’s a very good 13-year-old boy. 160

Colorado Wild @robin34.bsky.social · 16/09/2026The storm that cut our hike short today. We made it back to the car about 3 minutes before it hit. 2164
Colorado Wild @robin34.bsky.social · 12/09/2026My nephew texted me this photo of the hot dog stand where he ate lunch today. I took him here 30 years ago when he was only 5. I still remember him saying "I'm eating a hot dog in a hot dog." 😂 He said he hasn't been there since I took him, and it is one of his core childhood memories. You guys... 🥹 180

Colorado Wild @robin34.bsky.social · 02/09/2026There are those on Bluesky who love mushrooms. This post is for you. In the the mountains of Northern Colorado. #mushrooms #toadstool #nature 1524
Colorado Wild @robin34.bsky.social · 01/09/2026Oh well, I couldn't reach the pears at the top of the tree anyway. 🪶 1182

Colorado Wild @robin34.bsky.social · 29/08/2026It's good to be home after a long week hanging out at the hospital with my dear friend. I've got 35 lbs of pears from our trees that I need to process today. Pie filling. Jam. Pear tarts. There's no place like home. 190
Colorado Wild @robin34.bsky.social · 23/08/2026They'll be gone in a few weeks and I'll miss them so much. 🪶 2469

Colorado Wild @robin34.bsky.social · 21/08/2026My dog and I took a well-deserved scolding from this yellow-bellied marmot as we hiked past the rocks where he lives. 7295
Colorado Wild @robin34.bsky.social · 14/08/2026It's been extremely dry in northern Colorado, so these guys found a unique way to celebrate today's downpour. 290
Colorado Wild @robin34.bsky.social · 11/08/2026Today's harvest. We ate some of the corn only 40 minutes after picking it. 🌽 1161
Colorado Wild @robin34.bsky.social · 10/08/2026My restaurant dinner included ribs, fries, and “Texas toast.” I ask you, ladies and gentlemen, DOES THIS LOOK LIKE TOAST TO YOU?! 240
Colorado Wild @robin34.bsky.social · 06/08/2026Our back yard borders a public park and the extra vegetables from our garden disappear fast when I hang them on our gate. I imagine some of the pears will end up here as well. 110
Colorado Wild @robin34.bsky.social · 06/08/2026Our pear trees are loaded with fruit this year despite the drought. What shall I make with them? 🍐 582
Colorado Wild @robin34.bsky.social · 05/08/2026Worried I might get lost, this Clark's nutcracker led the way to the fire lookout tower I was hiking to today. He stayed about 5 trees ahead of me for at least 1/4 mile. 🪶 0397
Colorado Wild @robin34.bsky.social · 05/08/2026I found 3 caches today, which required hiking about 2.6 miles in the national forest in Colorado. You can set up an account at geocaching.com to get started. They list the caches & coordinates there. A paid account is best, but don't spend the $30 a year until you know you'll stick with it. 110
Colorado Wild @robin34.bsky.social · 01/08/2026We went on an adventure this morning to look for a smooth green snake (Opheodrys vernalis) for my husband to photograph. We didn't have any luck with that species, but we did find several wandering garter snakes (Thamnophis elegans) and got to enjoy some beautiful scenery west of Boulder, Colorado. 1142
Colorado Wild @robin34.bsky.social · 28/07/2026WTF GOP? When Biden was president this can of coffee cost about $16 US. 150
Colorado Wild @robin34.bsky.social · 26/07/2026I took my dad out to lunch the other day and always enjoy driving past this horse ranch on the way to his house. 0142
Colorado Wild @robin34.bsky.social · 25/07/2026This morning we got up at 5:30 a.m. to go hiking before it got hot. Even at 6,500 feet it was 68° F by the time we reached the trailhead at 6:30. Way too hot for this Colorado gal. But deep in the canyon we were sheltered from the blazing sun. And we were back home eating breakfast by 9:30. 4283
Colorado Wild @robin34.bsky.social · 17/07/2026If there's a better way to spend a Thursday than beside a mountain stream with two old dogs, I've certainly never heard of it. 5345
Colorado Wild @robin34.bsky.social · 14/07/2026The black-footed ferret is North America's most endangered mammal. Once declared extinct, their wild population has been rebuilt to roughly 400 individuals through captive breeding & reintroduction. This one was found near the captive breeding facility in Northern Colorado. #wildlife #conservation 1183
Colorado Wild @robin34.bsky.social · 13/07/2026EVERYONE LOOK!! A few weeks ago I caught a piece of cottonwood fluff out of the air and planted it. Now look! 3131
Colorado Wild @robin34.bsky.social · 09/07/2026No. I had to climb up the rocks at the top of this photo. It wasn't as steep approaching from the back, but I couldn't find the cache and after 20 minutes needed to climb down for some water. I was going to go back for a second look but decided to skip it. I figured once was enough. 🤣 130
Colorado Wild @robin34.bsky.social · 09/07/2026On the way to a geocache I never found. A T4 rating in the Rocky Mountains is getting to be too much for this nearly 60 year old. But it was still a great hike. #geocaching #outdoors 1201
Colorado Wild @robin34.bsky.social · 07/07/2026I found this Woodland Pinedrop today. A member of the Indian-pipe family, it is a root parasite, and depends on its association with a fungus that is also associated with a pine tree. It produces very little chlorophyll and does not conduct photosynthesis. #nature #outdoors #Colorado 0242
Colorado Wild @robin34.bsky.social · 03/07/2026This time last year we were getting ready to leave for Madagascar. This 400-year-old baobab tree was one of many highlights. 1111
