Literally just this evening! I'm intrigued by the concept and rather excited

1. I didn't know this 2. It's very cool 3. I love how it parallels things we say in English like "there's nothing new under the sun"

Just now paying attention to your photo and realising it's an omnibus of the sequence and not just the book of the same title, but still: deeply beautiful series of books! I reread OS,US just before Christmas, read TDiR during the Christmas period (intentional timing), and then the rest from there

I read The Dark is Rising for the first time last Christmas/NY! I'd loved Over Sea, Under Stone as a child, but for a few reasons I sadly never gave The Dark is Rising a chance. That is now remedied. Deeply beautiful book

Let's just say "if you know you know" (and please forgive my reference to The Magician Nephew instead of The Magician's Nephew. It's past 10pm. Or maybe scary Gerwig's Wokeness™ is so utterly Ruining™ the story that she's even done away with the beloved apostrophe-S!)

Regardless of any mixed feelings and trepidation evoked by much of what we've seen of Greta Gerwig's The Magician Nephew, this promo image in particular is just exquisite
A promotional image for Greta Gerwig's adaptation of The Magician's Nephew, showing Diggory and a horse. A wing design on the van behind the horse is positioned as though the horse has wings

A website where you can put in a Bluesky handle (no login required) and it tells you all the publicly available information like who they're blocking, who's blocking them, what lists and starter packs they're part of, etc. For me it's mainly just to see what lists I've been added to

Weirdly I just happened across my fridge magnet souvenir from Lannercost Priory (from a visit there a year or two ago) while doing a tidy-up yesterday. Nice to see it on the timeline today!

I smiled broadly upon seeing this notification, both at the reminder of an upcoming Clarke and at your thoughtfulness in thinking of me! I'd heard that this was on the way, but had completely forgotten, so I appreciate the heads-up. The Durham connection makes it especially exciting

Northumberland serendipity. On a wave washed platform there are many scattered pebbles. For me there would be no joy at all in finding one and placing it. However there is huge pleasure in finding a pebble that already sits well where it has stopped. #capturewithconfidence #kingjoy #nikon

'Pit' feels so natively English/Germanic that I never would've known it was once a loanword. But, then again, that often seems to be the case with the ones that get loaned early enough (i.e. pre-OE) to end up feeling fully nativised

This time I kept only the core ideas and a few choice phrases, and otherwise completely rewrote it as a fresh new poem. Scrapped the structure and everything else that was holding it back; fully revamped it. And it is now SO! MUCH! BETTER! (2/2)

Took a poem of mine that I've long found a bit clunky and lifeless, and – after various past attempts to reshuffle it into something more interesting – finally understood what needed doing. (1/2)

Went and checked, and it's exactly the waterfall I was thinking of when I said it looked very Twin Peaks! Appears in the title sequence of every episode – youtu.be/yFMaEIHIrGw – and in lots of establishing shots in the show. Your downward pan in your video was very reminiscent of the titles

Once at uni some course friends were discussing their Myers-Briggs personality types (that four-letter crap like INTJ, ESFP, etc.) and when asked mine I mumbled something about it being nonsense. One of them said "omg, so salty" and without missing a beat I said "sorry, my personality is NaCl"
