I fixed @speakermjohnson ‘s statement on the budget bill. This budget reconciliation bill is the most damaging bill Congress has seen since before the Great Depression. #biguglybill #bigbeautifulbill #congress #budget

Dept. of Education destruction harms teacher readiness, professional development & classroom instruction. Losing those resources limits access to new teaching strategies & teaching materials. Say "NO" to Republican attacks on public schools & students!

When the 1st hurricane comes, ICE & other agents will abandon their post & leave the people to die. This is the place you set up to send people when you are trying to be cruel. This is not detention. This can’t be described as anything, but an internment or concentration camp.

Alligators swim faster than a dolphin and can run up to 35 mph. I also saw an alligator rip open a turtle like it was a can of tuna. This is not a place for any housing, let alone detention or prison. Water has already entered the facility and we are going into hurricane season.

It was incredibly hot & humid, full of mosquitoes & other bugs, & you had to be hyper aware of what was around you b/c an alligator could be around any corner. We hiked a 100 yards down a trail before turning back b/c a massive 11’ alligator was smack dab in the middle of it.

Trump can’t reopen Alcatraz, so he’s making a new one. I’ve been to the Everglades. I was 16 or 17 when I went & in great shape from water polo. It was teeming with biodiversity and really cool for a day. I was happy to leave. #AlligatorAlcatraz #InternmentCamp #ConcentrationCamp #ICE #AbolishICE

This isn’t a good idea even if the plane was being donated to the U.S. government. But Trump GETS TO KEEP THE PLANE??? It’s simply a cash payment to Trump in exchange for favors. Just wildly illegal.

Reminder: the Israeli government has been violating the Geneva Convention since signing in 1951 & the US has provided exorbitant funding for “defense” that has been funding apartheid and genocide for decades. Israel is starving children because THEY don’t want to comply with the deal they made.

Trump is doing this knowing it will harm children & despite Mental Health being a primary concern for families, second only to academic achievement. The language in the letter is abhorrent & a reflection of the total lack of understanding of the mental health crises our YOUTH actually face.

Tuesday, while headed back from #CapitolHill, we learned that Trump & Linda McMahon are canceling our School Based Mental Health Service Grant. This money was allocated by #Congress through the Appropriations Committee in the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act signed following the massacre in #Uvalde.

Earlier this week I let you all know that Lemon Grove School District was in #Washington advocating for our #SchoolDistrict, our #community, & the future of #PublicEducation. We have lots to share and even some joyous photos from the evenings, but none of that is as urgent as what I am sharing here.
