This is hilariously awful.

I hear it's banned books week. Just so ya know, the only reason my first two (award-winning) novels aren't banned is because not enough people have read them. They are all about fighting the machine. LFG! #WokeAuthor

A seminal time in my life was my study abroad in Strasbourg. I was a European History major & was there when the Berlin Wall & the entire Iron Curtain came crashing down. I hitchhiked to Paris, fell in love in Spain, & made lifelong friends. Once the current book is done, the memoire will be next!

I cannot adequately convey how good these just-off-the-tree Honeycrisp apples are.

My friend's son is doing a family and friends special on website creation and HO-LEE-SHIT is he fast and good. It's up and running, but still being built (I need to edit the paragraphs, etc.). Chase it down if you're curious. I can't wait to show it to you when it's ready!

Why have friends when being a raging asshole is so much more fun?

Back from off grid cabin. It was fine. Got some good writing done. Book 3 isn’t fast, but you will love it. 😊

A good writing week off-grid at the Ontario cabin. Now back at it in Minnesota. Slow working (sorry), but we're getting there. I can't wait to show you Book 3!

Good morning, gang. I’m sorry book three is running late. Just a helluva year for creative work.

The guys who were zero for nine on getting countries right on a map of Africa think they are owning Canada by erasing a name used by the Native Huron people *on both sides of the border.* This Administration isn’t even in the same ballpark as stupid.

Tomatoes are coming in fast! Olga is from Bilbao, Spain. We met in a Paris youth hostel in October, 1989 and became fast friends. She is our daughter's godmother. You will thank me for this recipe.

Oops, just seeing this. That's a Burr Oak. We're very fond of it but worried as the base is somewhat hollowed out & branches dying back. The birds use it to stage when coming to the feeders. In MN, we have Burr, White, Red, Pin, Swamp White Oaks that I know of. Burr are fire resist & prairie trees.

1. Wake up 2. Feed dogs 3. Notice all four hummingbird feeders empty or low 4. Make coffee & sit down 5. Look up & see hummingbird hovering on other side of window, staring at me 6. Get back up, make sugar water, wash out feeders, & refill. 7. Sit back down & enjoy lukewarm coffee Good morning!

Insurgent populist thread, Maple version: My friend, Robert Loiselle, ran for the Manitoba Legislature as a progressive NDP candidate vs. incumbent Dougal Lamont, a centrist Liberal who had not bothered to even live in his riding but suddenly felt the need to buy a house in St. Boniface.

We're at about 80,000 words and I still have at least five, maybe ten chapters before I can type "the end, motherfuckers!" Then it's back to page 1. and the edit of the entire thing again and again. The good news: It does keep getting better.

Books & stories are subjective things, but if you want a recommendation, I've got one fer ya: Tom Lake by Anne Patchet. Friend *told* me to read it in the context of me starting my memoire. It's a beautiful story about falling in love while young. The audiobook is narrated by Meryl Streep!

Hey Nat! Sorry, got busy over at Strider. I was also at the Ontario cabin for a week (offline) working on book 3. Got some good stuff done there and close to wrapping up the rough draft. Then it's back to page one and edit, edit, edit! Hope you are well.

Anyway, I was glad to meet the young couple renewing their vows. I hope they left Sevilla with some good memories, - some of them provided by the erstwhile American doing his best to bring some light into the world. /fin
