Decide to replace John Tzetzes's poetic summary with Quintus of Smyrna's Posthomerica. It seemed like the translations of the former (which are the only current attempt to render into English) were done by a person in which English was their second langauge, and so it felt iffy to me.

Been making a folder (I consider it a digital codex of sorts) for my personal enjoyment that contain translations of the Homeric epics. Only thing that's eating me is the urge to also include Quintus of Smyrna's Posthomerica in Appendix I, but I'm not sure if that is a tad too much or what.

The consultation of the dead is a very memorable scene in The Odyssey (2026): I'm not sure if the spirits coming up out of the ground have had much notice. That isn't in Homer. But it is how the scene is depicted in ancient vase paintings. See: encounters with Elpenor (left) and Teiresias (right).
