Logged in to my Royal Albert Hall account. Bought a ticket for distant worlds 2019 for £37. No chance the ticket this time will be anywhere near that price

The part of the Suikoden 2 anime I'm most curious to see is Tinto and the stuff with Neclord. Also the war skirmishes. And pretty much all the big Luca blight moments. First ep doesn't really show how evil and unhinged he is. And how much of a monster he is also

Robert H Mullarkey @robert1988uk.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

But yeah. I liked it. Curious to see how certain scenes get adapted. Wonder if Jowys family turn up again later. You never see them again the game. But yeah quite good. Was worried cause most game to anime adaptations range from meh to passable

Robert H Mullarkey @robert1988uk.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Quite early. Wonder how the pacing will go. Expecting next episode to be the attack on Ryube and possibly Toto with Riou(Riliu still feels weird to me) getting the bright shield and black sword runes. The animation felt very basic in spots and really good in others. Character designs feel weird

Okay. So suikoden 2 anime ep 1. Was quite good. I liked seeing Jowy with Pilika and her family in Toto village. Not sure how I feel about the inclusion of a ninja and new commander in the highland army. Interesting to give Rina the wind rune and use wind of sleep a few times. Showing the beast rune

Oh. Theres so much I want to say about the suikoden 2 anime so far

000

Robert H Mullarkey @robert1988uk.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

From both Jowy and Riou lead to believe it wont. Possibly for it to be a bigger reveal later.

000

Robert H Mullarkey @robert1988uk.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Watching the Suikoden 2 anime. 12mins into the episode. Its 50m long. But I'm not a fan of how they keep cutting back to the youth brigade camp ambush. Theres also been some major changes to the narrative. But it might correct itself when it finally finishes the flashbacks but the internal thoughts

Actually saw a fanmade version that replaces the song with the climb by fleetwood mac. It fits perfectly. That should really be the ED song

Robert H Mullarkey @robert1988uk.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

Wait is that really the ED song they've chosen for Steel Ball Run. Its awful. At least the youtube comments are ripping the pish out of it.

The Struggles Of Elon Musk 😔

A cartoon made in response to an Elon Musk tweet that reads “Whoever said “money can’t buy happiness” really knew what they were talking about 😔”

The black and white cartoon shows Musk standing against the wind. There is a distant expression on his face and a single tear being blown from his left eye.
He wraps his arms around himself, trying to keep warm. The world is so cruel to him. Punishing him for the meagre crime of hoarding massive amounts of wealth and showing no empathy for the vulnerable. Also, he uses his platform to boost racism, misogyny, and white supremacy but seriously guys who would hold that against a fella?

Next to him a caption reads “Being a shit person is ruining my life”

Oh yeah, so Endgame Encore. Good thing Endgame is a very good cinema movie. New content that ties it more into doomsday could have been the opening scenes of doomsday or teasers to build hype. But fun going to see the film in cinema again with friends. Looking forward to doomsday

Discworld QOTD, from Mort

The only thing known to go faster than ordinary light is monarchy, according to the philosopher Ly Tin Wheedle. He reasoned like this: you can't have more than one king, and tradition demands that there is no gap between kings, so when a king dies the succession must therefore pass to the heir instantaneously. Presumably, he said, there must be some elementary particles -- kingons, or possibly queons -- that do this job, but of course succession sometimes fails if, in mid-flight, they strike an anti-particle, or republicon. His ambitious plans to use his discovery to send messages, involving the careful torturing of a small king in order to modulate the signal, were never fully expanded because, at that point, the bar closed.

Finished the Dead Zone. Great book. I've seen Greg Stillson being compared to Trump. He totally is. Although I believe if Trump pulled the stunt Stillson did; it wouldn't end his political career. People would defend it.

Discworld QOTD, from Sourcery

Discworld meme. On the left is Death, a skeleton with glowing blue eye sockets wearing a black robe. Death is petting a small kitten.

On the right is the text of the quote.

“I meant,” said Ipslore bitterly, “what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?’

Death thought about it.

CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.

I'd have the game set up and they need to play a match to buy it. Don't have to win but at least know the rules and how to play

The way people now act regarding them. Probably. Seen videos of influencers/scalpers getting pokemon cards and none of them have any pokemon knowledge. Thinking how easy it would be to sell fakes to these people

Its so weird it has to come to this. Good on argos. Retail staff aren't paid enough to deal with this bs

000

Robert H Mullarkey @robert1988uk.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

Yep. Scalpers and collectors sre ruining these hobbies. At least from their social media post its 1 per customer/group and any boxes in cellophane will have them opened in shop. Which should affect resale value

Massive queue outside forbidden planet this morning. Looked it up. They're getting pokémon cards in

3 is a weird one. I'm wondering if that will ever get a remaster. They skipped it and went straight to 4 on psn although its a port. I think cause one of the characters is character modeled after Jean Reno. That might cause licensing issues. Hoping they do remaster it like 1+2 though

000

Robert H Mullarkey @robert1988uk.bsky.social · 13/09/2026

Nope. Absolutely fine to jump in here. Completely fresh story. 1-3 was a trilogy that had Nobunaga as the antagonist. Dawn of dreams takes place just after with Hideoyoshi as the antagonist. This takes place several years later. So far I've not seen anything tying it back to the previous games

100

Robert H Mullarkey @robert1988uk.bsky.social · 13/09/2026

No worries. Yep. Pretty much that. Would highly recommend. Was already a fan of this franchise but really happy with the direction they went here. I do miss getting new swords and spamming magic but love Musashi as a character and how good the general swordplay feels.

Robert H Mullarkey @robert1988uk.bsky.social · 13/09/2026

Definitely a game where you need to learn boss patterns but you get good tools and feels manageable. Not as brutal as a souls game. Like a good inbetween of that and classic oninusha. Once you master parries and dodging it feels very good. Fights have a good fun flow to them.
