Critical thinking requires not being in denial. Sometimes you have to ask yourself what your own motives are. I mean we can all see other people's dishonest motives. Why are so many people on either side of the debate in the UK unable to ask themselves questions?

I remember Cameron trying to remake the Tories as cuddly and nice. Then his government introduced austerity, which really meant that the poor had to pay for the mistakes of the rich in the 2008 financial crisis. The Tories need to be trustworthy more than nice.

I am all for sustainable use of fisheries (I eat fish). Blue Planet Society say it's too premature to harvest bluefin. Warming seas and increased stocks of herring and other baitfish have drawn them back so that's good.

Even if a country meets all the rules for accession MS can veto that accession. I suggest that is why the EU will demand a referendum (and it's not a roadblock if, as you claim, you can win in a landslide).

The UK Parliament holds power in the UK. It holds no power with the EU's decision, and it is the EU's decision, to rejoin.

And the EU MS decide whether the UK rejoins or not. They will likely demand a referendum (they would be mad not to). The decision to apply to join is in the UK's hands while the decision as to whether the UK actually joins is in the EU's hands.
