You already undermined the country on the world stage. If you want to have honest dialogue, maybe don’t open with immediate blame and be willing to compromise. You know…govern?

Rob Acree @robacree.bsky.social · 18/10/2025
Have you asked your Republican friends that have control of the government to do anything? Maybe compromise? That’s what governing is all about.

Rob Acree @robacree.bsky.social · 18/10/2025
Stop violating the Hatch Act. Maybe tell your wannabe dictator friends to do their job. The Republican Party has control of every part of the government and can’t seem to govern at all.

You have control of every part of the government. This is squarely on your shoulders. This is 100% your failure to govern.

What’s better than a Seattle Mariners game in August? A Mariners game with amazing teammates wearing kickass Interlune tees! ⚾ 👕 We’re going to the Moon, and having fun while doing so! 😜

Today, President Trump signed a bill into law that will eliminate $1.1B of federal funding for public media. This devastating act tipped the threat against journalism in America into a crisis. Millions depend on the NPR Network. Now, we’re counting on you. Donate here: n.pr/458sOhq
Public media is under threat. Millions depend on the NPR Network every day. Silencing journalism is one way to silence truth and erode the power of the people.

@superalbs.bsky.social glad to see you on this platform now! I’ve admittedly been sad to not see recent YouTube uploads. Do you plan to get back to posting videos regularly?

Ah, yes…cuts to the “woke STEM programming.” Because teaching science, technology, engineering, and math is destroying our children. Or something.

This is disgusting and disgraceful. Loyalty to a political entity has no place in our public scientific institutions.

There’s actually a novel by Elizabeth Gaskell called “North and South” that was adapted for screen in a miniseries that covers this. While it takes place in a fictional town in northern England, she based it on the struggles in Manchester during the Industrial Revolution. Definitely worth a watch!

The irony of the Trump administration revoking security clearances for several people from previous administrations while having classified conversations on Signal AND inviting people without a clearance into the chat.

Confused by this and I can’t see context because of a paywall. It’s the first launch of a new rocket and it contains their own payload. What did people expect? They told everyone what the issue was and have provided updates on the new launch window. What additional information is sought?

Hooked of one these up to my TV and spent hours typing in a program for a game called “Tank” or something similar the first day I had it. I recall a small white circle moving across the screen away from a small white square and then it ended. I clearly had made a mistake somewhere…

If you’ve been itching for content related to both rockets and beer kegs, check out my friends @kegrocket.bsky.social who are literally building a rocket using beer kegs. It is no doubt on the list of my most anticipated first launches right New Glenn.

Multiple fires in very dry eastern WA where I’m spending a few days visiting family…and everyone is out trying to light the joint on fire with fireworks. I really don’t understand why they are sold to people anymore.

Worst case for Apple: it’s an utter failure and dies similarly to Google Glass. The whole market never comes to fruition as people realize that they need escapes from our digital lives and don’t want to wear something on their head 24/7.

Rob Acree @robacree.bsky.social · 07/06/2023
I think this will go one of two ways. Best case for Apple: it’s a success and actually innovates our world by bringing the digital into almost every moment (through future versions of the headset…not this one). Nobody else (i.e. Meta) manages to find their way into a strong market position.

Congrats to the many SpaceX engineers who toiled on Starship to get to today. Failing fast is SpaceX’s MO and the data from today will be incredibly valuable.

So what was that? Was Starship’s launch a failure or a success?
SpaceX's development process is messier, but it's also much faster.

I’m not sure Bluesky is a replacement. Only time will tell if those people migrate here. Very few migrated to Mastodon, but their account creation process was probably confusing/a barrier to some.

I’m struggling to find a replacement for my news feed that was Twitter. I followed NPR and a small group of space news reporters to create a feed which delivered news content I was interested in. Throw in a few close friends and it was a great experience until it wasn’t.
