For a long time, I thought MySQL performance was far behind Postgres, at least for Kestra's database use case. But I was wrong; you can tune it to match Postgres performance; it's just a matter of the default configuration. www.loicmathieu.fr/wordpress/in...

The @hop.apache.org 2.20.0 release, coming in a couple of weeks, will be the start of AI integration into Apache Hop: *) An AI Assistant will help you to design and troubleshoot development *) A set of nu plugins will help you to build RAG pipelines visually, without the need for code and scripts

Funny how #AI for #java puts all the code in package scope, mainly to enable testing, this is a real shift for me and not sure the hundred of tests it brings are worth it at the end, better to focus on quality than facilty, hope next gen of model will shift toward that without a ton of guidance.

I'm mainly using open weight models but they tend to know it upfront so the md are generally useless and the discovery part still happens on deep API, maybe it depends the models - but saw it with claude as well when I had a plan?

Sure when covered (= final app) but when not it often wastes. For ex on the project itself graft helps but it doesnt contains the bodies so agent will still search, when the skill totally misses the low details you still end up with 30mn of agent discovery. There is no silver bullet ;)

Romain Manni-Bucau @rmannibucau.bsky.social · 01/09/2026
Depends, skills increase the token count by design and if too verbose it is counter productive, it also rarely contains the low level details and good agents often recreate their context from binaries. Works well for tools (CLI, UI), less for real life coding projects.

What I really like with coding agents is how they will just fetch your stack binaires/sources and read it to understand how it is really done then generate some tests - like a human would do, doesn't need any spec which is violated by vendors or alike to be right. Reliability first!
