Rachael Levay @rlevay.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Nothing quite like looking up the schedule for a conference coming up and realizing they think I'll still be anywhere near a booth at 7:30 p.m. 😂 030
Rachael Levay @rlevay.bsky.social · 29/09/2026Dominique, I want to talk about all of this so bad. As someone whose kids are going to school in a voucher state and in a school district weighing a four-day school week, K-12 ed research is my new fulltime job. 100
Rachael Levay @rlevay.bsky.social · 25/09/2026We were in NYC this summer and felt some sadness that it wasn’t much better than in Idaho! 000
Rachael Levay @rlevay.bsky.social · 24/09/2026Not for nothing, but I sure wish like hell there was a place near me that required masking. How amazing to not feel like the last souls on earth doing so. 140

Rachael Levay @rlevay.bsky.social · 23/09/2026We got both kids Covid vaccines (littlest kid yesterday!) and I thought it might not happen this year. Pediatricians won’t carry it (ironically I was told they don’t bc parents should choose), nor does public health. Kroger proved the only option and I suspect it’s partly because of this. 093
Rachael Levay @rlevay.bsky.social · 20/09/2026Health insurance will also, almost always, pay for a titer test if you want to get your immunity tested! 120
Rachael Levay @rlevay.bsky.social · 16/09/2026Losing Annie Dillard really is a devastating loss. The Living is an overlooked piece of classic American literature that I think about more often than I can explain. Maybe growing up in those dense forests made my love for the book inevitable, but I don't really think so. 1102
Rachael Levay @rlevay.bsky.social · 16/09/2026Someones clearly decided "repertoires" is the scholarly word of the moment. It's suddenly everywhere, which I find fascinating. 010
Rachael Levay @rlevay.bsky.social · 16/09/2026I do not lie when I say it’s possible for us to bike every dang place we’ve got to go. But maybe…this will break fossil fuels?? 🤞 110

Rachael Levay @rlevay.bsky.social · 13/09/2026This is so true. It’s so extra gross. And yet…I’m watching it, lol. 120
Rachael Levay @rlevay.bsky.social · 13/09/2026I’m watching The Ultimatum and keep thinking about this lil “crisis of masculinity” we have going on. Every man is looking for what they genuinely describe as a “submissive woman” to cook and clean oh and she has be insanely fit. Maybe, MAYBE, it is, as my daughter says, an issYOU and not an issME. 340

Rachael Levay @rlevay.bsky.social · 30/08/2026Starting tomorrow, me and seven of my closest middle-aged mom friends will play volleyball on various middle-school courts as The Notorious D.I.G. and I expect we’ll have a real good time. 170
Rachael Levay @rlevay.bsky.social · 30/08/2026Tomorrow is the start of my local rec center’s women’s volleyball league and, for the first time, I’ve organized a team. I loved playing volleyball as a girl and over the past few years, volleyball has become my own amazing daughter‘s entire world, my inspiration. She rubbed off on me. 180

Rachael Levay @rlevay.bsky.social · 14/08/2026Yesss! But, to be clear, in the Sad Book about Sad People, it's also imperative that Not Very Much Happens. That's another key facet of a Rachael Book. 120
Rachael Levay @rlevay.bsky.social · 14/08/2026Everyone who knows me, knows that my favorite genre is Sad Book About Sad People, in which little happens. I've just gotten Paul Yoon's Etna, which is a Sad Book About a Sad Dog and I'm genuinely so scared to start it. The sadder the world gets, the harder it is to read the sad things. 140

Finally getting those vaccines into my children, especially my two-year old whose whole life had been covid at that point, was the first time I took a real, deep breath of air. 1184
