I don’t disagree, but everyone thought Gideon would have a cake-walk against Collins.The GOP painted her as an “outsider”- a death knell outside of greater Portland. I’m no pollster, but I think that Platner will win more Indy voters than Mills. It will get ugly, but Collins isn’t clean either.

From today’s NYT. Why does Janet Mills think Republicans will “tear him apart”? I am NOT defending @grahamformaine.bsky.social, but 44% of women helped re-elect a convicted felon and a jury found him guilty of sexual assault. So, unless there’s sth else, IMHO, Platner will win more ME Independents.

I’m guessing NY is lower because of population density and the availability/access to mass transit. So, to your point, in densely populated urban/suburban areas people of voting age chose NOT to get a driver license - regardless of gender.

True - this is a combo of discrimination and a poll tax. 50% of citizens don’t have a passport, which is the only vehicle that guarantees you won’t be turned away at the Polls. Do you trust that Marco Rubio has a plan to handle 70M - 100M passport requests in less than 6 months?

And not ANY birth certificate - it must be an official State certificate with a seal. It cannot be a “Registry of birth”, or a certificate issued by a hospital. The only “hassle free” voting vehicle is a Passport. And there is no way Marco Rubio has prepared the State Dept for an influx of requests

Republicans have lowered the bar so low that I don’t think tattoos and Reddit posts will dissuade voters - especially independents. However, I do think Colin’s camp will lean in heavily on the transgender sports issue. She’ll do this to curry favor with Trump to get more of his PAC money.
