What a time to be alive huh 😭 I’m so exhausted.

Very true, there really are no winners with a policy like this, it’s a shame people don’t realize that until it’s implemented and they actually feel the ripple effects.

It seriously is and I am so done with them pretending otherwise.

Fucking insane to work super hard to get Permanent Residency and then getting it revoked just because you forgot to take your card with you on a 5 min konbini run.

Screenshot of an article stating “Under the new guidelines, permanent residents could have their status revoked if they are found to have been intentionally failing to pay tax or are guilty of other public charges. The status could also be revoked if a permanent resident violates obligations under the Immigration Control Act (such as faili by to carry their residence card with them) and breaking the law.

Once again, I repeat that Japanese labor laws make it extremely difficult to fire permanent employees making layoffs nigh impossible within Japanese companies. Execs are not taking less pay out of kindness but necessity when times are rough.

gamesradar.com

Japanese companies like Nintendo, Capcom, and Konami are healthier because they have smaller teams, don't have frequent layoffs, and don't pay executives $30 million, says expert

"They didn't get swept up in the live-service trend, or into these mega-blockbusters with 500-person teams"

The Shimomura Yoko 39th Anniversary Orchestra Concert was absolutely fantastic - what a fabulous career! 💜 Hearing some epic Final Fantasy XV songs live made my heart ache for the team that would go on to form the majority of my lovely colleagues at Luminous Productions.

So many feels visiting the Final Fantasy X Museum. This game was formative to me in many ways, from introducing me to the RPG genre to igniting my passion and awe for game cinematics. Who knows what I’d be doing now if I had never stumbled upon the Final Fantasy series.

Second time headlining at Tokyo Game Show, and second time brandishing the Buster Sword there as well. It’s been a wild ride during the 8 years I’ve spent developing games in Japan so far. So many challenges. So many wonderful encounters. 💜

When a game studio ships a solid game, it creates TWO valuable products: 1. A solid game. 2. The team that spent years learning how to work together make a game. Because Western studios keep disbanding #2 while development cycles get longer; we will inevitably see less of #1.

Sunderfolk is an amazing game.

A character called Zuri is saying "Fair enough. Just recently got the steps down to the Shakira Hips, it's not polished, buth who cares; it's dancing. Not like there are lives at stake."

Yeah, that was the reasoning behind separating the Switch 2 into two different versions here - the Japanese only model and the pricier multi language model! But what I am bummed about here is that for the newly announced Zelda Switch 2, they aren't offering a multi language option at all.

010

Roosa Jokiaho @rjokami.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

It’s already bad enough dealing with the strong anti-immigrant push from the current Japanese government, I really don’t need Nintendo to echo that sentiment…

Roosa Jokiaho @rjokami.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

The Zelda 40th anniversary Switch 2 is very pretty and I would much prefer it to the look of the basic Switch 2, but of course it’s only available as a Japanese language only model and not as a multi language model in Japan… and that REALLY bums me out.

you may ask why there are so many games about sad dads and well, thats cause if you rearrange the letters "dads" it spells "lots of video game designers spent their youths crunching and not being with their families and they feel bad about it"
