Cozy and Concrete are a pair of very raw drum kits recorded by True North Audio with our friends Clara and Vas of the band Peak Divide. We spent 4 days sampling Clara and her kit in both the small bedroom studio she uses, and the garage that we sampled the keg in. The UI is carefully hand crafted and made to represent to humanity and personality of both kits. We wanted to create a pair of kits that both captured Clara's sound and personality, But are open ended enough to be used very creatively and even broken a bit. Cozy is recorded in Clara's small bedroom studio for a very tight and intimate sound. it is very dry and personal.Concrete is recorded in a large 3 car garage for that huge room sound with room mics to capture its enormous size.Both kits are recorded with the same set of mics and positions on the overheads and shells, with rooms being spread out differently for each to capture the space they are in best. Concrete has an additional pair of stereo rooms just to add to the size.
