I find a messenger bag is more useful in some contexts. Sitting down with a backpack requires taking it off. With a messenger bag you just pull it around the front. So I particularly like it for public transit.

In BC we're running some of our hospitals at well over 100% occupancy. People are being cared for in closets and hallways and the emergency department. The idea that you would not put someone in an available be because of sex? Lol. No.

Here's how I know it's time to take a sick day. I am myself "would you like to stay home and work on one of your many neglected hobbies?" If the answer is "No. Can I just go back to bed instead?" Then I'm calling in sick to work.

Hmm...I don't know. I think there's a particular kind of guy who is perfectly aware that the congregation he's a part of is more women than men but absolutely opposed to having women similarly represented in leadership.

I'm not convinced we actually asked. We just did it because it didn't occur to me that it would be a problem. I've also (probably) left a 6 year old in the waiting room alone. And not actually attended my kids' appointments at all because they were at the same time as mine. (Not at 3 though)

... I have frequently brought small children to the dentist while I have my appointment. They sit on a stool and chat with the hygenist and everyone is chill and it's actively encouraged at my dentist because it makes it easier for them when it's their turn off they just saw someone do it.

There's a conservative taking point that says they declined because of progressive leanings, but correlation is not causation. It could be the opposite: they reinvented themselves with more progressive values because of decline.

To some extent, you can explain the decline of the mainline that way too. They were the power centers of previous generations when it came to religious influence and once that power wanes, they're left on a very precarious footing.

Perhaps this would be simpler if you also had a plan for how to store it. My neighbours keep theirs up year round and give it seasonal accessories. Lights and a Santa hat at Christmas, flowers in spring.

It looks handy: nice graphical interface, good for illustrating and explaining your results. It's commonly used in your academic circles, surely you can also use it in collaborations outside academia. No. Stop. Do not. It's a trap. An expensive trap.

3-D games, especially older ones, tend to be bad for me. Portal, was cool enough that I sucked it up and played it in small doses. This one...is purposefully making it worse trying to give the impression that your character is suffering. But it just makes me suffer, so I think I'll probably DNF

I did the "High Heat" method rather than the "Roast Turkey" method. Turned out good, but a little more stressful than just yeeting the turkey in for a few hours.
