Michele Riva @riva.wtf · 26/09/2025Got an A even if I'll never understand APA formatting 🥲 graph theory ftw! 010
Michele Riva @riva.wtf · 03/06/2025No book will ever be as insightful as “The Gay Science” by Nietzsche, but “The Myth of Sisyphus” gets really close 000
Michele Riva @riva.wtf · 28/03/2025We're making it easier for everyone to deploy a complex AI architecture with a simple docker-compose declaration. Production binaries and instructions rolling out next week (don't use docker-compose in prod pls) github.com/oramasearch/... 030
Michele Riva @riva.wtf · 15/03/2025I live on an island and this is the kind of connection I have 😱 in Milan I was going 40Mbps. Crazy!! 250
Michele Riva @riva.wtf · 05/02/2025What if your search engine could reason? And no, this is neither R1 nor O1/O3... 👀 010
Michele Riva @riva.wtf · 17/01/2025OramaCore is fast. The time to the first token is ~750ms on consumer hardware. In this demo, we perform query translation and optimization, vector search (with embedding generation), and text generation. In 750ms. 140
Michele Riva @riva.wtf · 15/01/2025"Not backed by Y Combinator" gets my seal of approval automatically 030
Michele Riva @riva.wtf · 27/12/2024Good investors send funds. Great investors send vodka sodas in a cooler! 010
Michele Riva @riva.wtf · 23/12/2024I made a small visualization tool to visualize the reconstruction error on embeddings compressed via product quantization... should I open source it? 110
Michele Riva @riva.wtf · 26/11/2024Almost done... I will try to open-source this today. I faced many difficulties finding good Rust-based vector quantization libraries, so I am writing one for @orama.com 292
Michele Riva @riva.wtf · 21/11/2024Seriously @notion.com, EUR 9.50/month to use MY own domain? What the hell? And you only see that after paying EUR 11.50 for the plus plan? That's bad. That's soooo bad. 060
Michele Riva @riva.wtf · 16/11/2024Me after two weeks coding Rust (Venetian moeche are insanely good) 190
Michele Riva @riva.wtf · 14/11/2024First time at the Biennale di Venezia - focusing on art on colonialism. Absolutely incredible and informative 000
Michele Riva @riva.wtf · 09/11/2024“based on what you know about me. draw a picture of what you think my current life looks like”. I’m so happy that ChatGPT doesn’t know anything at all about my personal life, ideas, and interests 030
Michele Riva @riva.wtf · 07/11/2024I've always loved CouchDB's map/reduce expressions, so I'm introducing something similar in Orama. This is going to be so much fun. 090
Michele Riva @riva.wtf · 05/11/2024I'm writing a new vector database for @orama.com on a CPU. The vectors are not even quantized yet. I think I can get into the nanosecond area for the average Orama index size during the KNN search. If I generate embeddings with a GPU, I might get into the microseconds for the whole process 030
