Shell @risu.bsky.social · 3hThat sounds amazing. And such a nice environment to be in. Just calm and safe 💜 110
Shell @risu.bsky.social · 3hI can imagine. It was so complicated. If I didn’t understand English or was using an older phone or had a disability of some kind.. I’m not sure it would have been possible. It shouldn’t be like this at all. 010
Shell @risu.bsky.social · 3hJust had to apply for a provisional driving licence for my son. And what an experience the gov one app is.. A full face flashing scan like you are being abducted by aliens, scanning your passport chip with your phone.. to verify a 15 year old.. I wonder how many people struggle with it. 150

Shell @risu.bsky.social · 16hI WISH that education would actually understand what inclusion and accessibility is. Almost every social media post or conference talk I see shows a shocking lack of basic understanding of even fonts for dyslexia. But also wildly “ busy” screens and walls as “fun slides/class” 270

Shell @risu.bsky.social · 07/10/2026I KNOW! And yet I have had “privacy” people here defend it. There is no reason at all to take biometrics in an educational setting. It is purely a data grab and sold to schools as cheap. I bet nation states love having millions of fingerprints because schools won’t do lanyards 010
Shell @risu.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Remember that we hear about corporate cybersecurity incidents but education ones are hidden. And we are being conditioned to accept our data as just lost, out there, not confidential. Which isn’t ok. Especially when education data is also biometrics. 261
Shell @risu.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Even worse, the email ( about bringing an umbrella) began “don’t take this the wrong way and I know I’m a loser “ Which irritates me so much from a comms perspective in soooo many ways. But having to read it six times .. how is this person SLT? 000
Shell @risu.bsky.social · 06/10/2026A member of senior staff at my children’s school sent an email via the school app- about the rain tomorrow and bringing an umbrella. Sigh. Shell @risu.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Young people read the news and watch the world around them, if you want them to pursue STEM careers, or any career, make sure you have a sector that they can see themselves safely working in. That’s not tech or stem for sure. 1101
Shell @risu.bsky.social · 06/10/2026I have seen this research , if you can call it that, already in education with the FFT saying that we can assess ability based on genetics and then trying to cover themselves on the eugenics of it all. 100

Shell @risu.bsky.social · 05/10/2026NCA has told schools multiple times this year to keep images offline due to this risk, but schools are ignoring it for the most part Also if caregivers are told to do a thing, schools should model that. Shell @risu.bsky.social · 05/10/2026If you consider that every image of a child uploaded to the internet has already been used to make an AI image, because it will have been, perhaps that might make you think twice ? Perhaps schools should set a better example 040
Shell @risu.bsky.social · 05/10/2026And appallingly, schools are still uploading images of children to their websites and social media channels. Because nothing matters more to schools than clicks and likes and “engagement”. But we banned phones in schools, so we care about children. Or maybe we care about children recording harm.. 2114

Shell @risu.bsky.social · 04/10/2026I think this is a much wider problem than just media. Which is bad enough.
