it's a lifelong process for all of us. I recall (even with awareness of my own gayness at the time) the layers of internalized homophobia that bad people drilled into teenage me, so similarly in my 30s I have no more fucks to give about what some asshole thinks of my lifestyle.

I can keep screaming "I'm real!! I'm real!!!!" but there's no ironclad proof that I'm human other than visiting me in person. It's fucked up.

But it reaches everywhere. It puts doubt on everyone's minds about who's even real. I try not to become too paranoid. I can't ignore the destruction that this technology is wreaking on everything.

I've seen a lot of artists altering their styles, glazing images, etc. and I felt very strongly that I shouldn't have to change my behavior because of some malevolent force. That's just capitulation, I thought. I don't want to mention AI, I want to gleefully ignore it as it were an insecure bully.

goes without saying but: I HATE HATE HATE AI. Never used it, never will. It is mind poison. When I work through an art piece, I learn something new about the world, a friend, myself... You can't have that experience by delegating the work to a machine. Using AI PREVENTS learning. It's depressing.

it's tragic.... and they aren't even perpetrators one can confront later in life, they just vanish into the past. you're just left with your spirit damaged, with closure only coming from long internal struggle. it either leaves you cynical or (hopefully) radicalizes you against puritanism.

uhghhh I struggled for AGES unlearning my own toxic shame towards sex and porn. it's exhausting and enraging being forced to STILL(!!) interact with these issues because some people are too immature, cowardly and lazy to fix their own hearts.
