![We sure love doctors dismissing your pain that you've had for 6 years because it's not the exact right flavour they are thinking it should be!
After about 2 1/2 months of waiting, I finally met with a surgeon to talk about my gallbladder, because an ultrasound found gallstones back in June. Mind you've, I've had what I now know are gallbladder pains since 2020? 2021? Somewhere around there.
After questioning about who I live with and what I do with work, he then asked why I was there. My family doctor had already sent the ultrasound results back before I scheduled! After some more questioning about where I experience the pain and how long...
He dismissed it all and daid its likely just from fatty liver. Because my pain I get is primarily located in the middle of my back. And it's stabbing. And it lasts for 20-40 minutes. It's not typically in my side (though it can be), and happens every few days usually. Nope, couldn't be gallbladder, because then it'd be lasting for HOURS. I mean, once it dulls down some it's hours, but details, right?
Yeah, nope, just go lose weight and it should fix itself. Because it's not as much in my side and it's primarily in my back and it doesn't "last long enough".
Mind you, a typical attack lasts 20-60 minutes. He was saying it should be 4-5 hours.
So now I get to try and get in and work with my family doctor on a new plan, because I'm going to speak with her about this. Because [husband] and all my inlaws agree that this is not liver, it is 100% gallbladder. [Husband] has seen the pain I deal with, and my suffering, and it is nothing like what liver pain symptoms are listed as.
But, yknow, "just lose weight!"
